Amazing massage chairs, great service and good prices. They do shellac nails, which will last for a good few weeks without chipping! You get a footspa before you manicure and they have a great selection of nail polish colours and magazines to read!

Can’t go past this place for a luxurious pampering experience! Beautiful decor, everyone who works there is lovely, they really make a fuss of you. Lat time I went with my Mum and sister and we got a package deal that included an eyebrow tidy, a manicure and a glass of bubbles! Amazing!

So far, this is the only hairdressers I have found in Auckland that I can really rely on. Multiple times I have just gone with whoever was available to cut my hair there and they have always done a great job. Couldn’t recommend them more highly!

Great place to buy good quality make-up, as you have lots of options, with all the main cosmetic brand counters all in one place. They also have a lot of staff to help you choose. MAC offer a great service, where you can go and get you make-up done (starting at $50), but you can then redeem the full cost of the make-over in product, so you basically buy $50+ worth of product and get your make-up done for free! You can learn a lot and ask questions from the make-up artist too, which is really handy.

Beauty Treat - I have used Karenina Jackson's make up skills for my wedding, and then again for my wedding anniversary, and even for a dress up party! - I went as snow white! I had people not even knowing it was me! Whatever the event I recommend using Karenina Jackson Make up Artist for your special event. Great Make up Artist. Love the make up Karenina uses. Leading brands such as Mac, Clinique, Bobbi Brown etc.

I am a regular at both the Newmarket and CityWorks Depot branches of Dry & Tea, and not just visiting to get my hair done. They are absolutely passionate about beautiful teas too, and stock the most amazing range from T2 that includes my favourites: Liquorice Legs and Gorgeous Geisha. They even have tea-related gifts you can buy and take home, like Limoges cup and saucer sets at $199 a pop! Now THAT is every day luxury.

Glamorpuss Cosmetics is one of Newmarket’s hidden gems and an absolute Mecca for lovers of beauty products everywhere. They stock the full range of makeup line Becca, as well as British organic Skincare line Pai and the legendary Mario Badescu - amongst others! They also do a beautiful, natural makeover if you’re off somewhere special or just looking for some expert inspiration.

    Bobbi Brown Cosmetics
    Auckland Central
A visit to the new Bobbi Brown store at Britomart is like walking into heaven on earth for a beauty junkie like me, I could literally spend all day in there. The products are naturally amazing, and the staff are so approachable and knowledgable that you learn something new about the global mega brand every time you pop in. It is the perfect place to spend some time having a bit of a winter makeover too - let the experts work their magic and then hit the town!

The Face Place Med Spa in Vulcan Lane is definitely not for those just looking for a quick exfoliation and a new moisturiser - they deal in serious skin solutions. They have treatment menu that covers everything from medi facials and peels to Botox and fillers, and they stock doctor only Skincare ranges that will make serious changes to the health of your skin if you’re ready to take the extra step. Their staff are amongst the most highly trained in the country too, so you know you’re in good hands.

    Faceworks
    Rosedale
Dr. Teresa Cattin at Faceworks is New Zealand’s most highly respected cosmetic doctor, with a fine line in all manner of needles. She is a spokesperson for the use of Botox and fillers here and around the world, and is a fountain of information if you’re in the market for a little rejuvenation. Her Albany clinic is also incredibly discreet - if discretion is what you’re after!

The best outlet stores

I may look like I buy expensive jeans, but I’ll let you in on a little secret – I buy all of my denim from the Lee Outlet Store. So technically yes there is an expensive pair of jeans hugging my thighs but I certainly didn’t pay half as much as what they retail for. Check them out next time you are searching for that cut from a couple of seasons ago that became your favourite just as they pulled them off the racks. Cry no more – you’ll even be able to afford two pairs instead of one. Winning!

Shoes. That’s all I can say, so many shoes. Have really big feet and find it hard to track down a pair of skate shoes? Look no further. Have really little feet and you are forced to shop in the kid’s section? Look no further. As well as a sweet selection of tee’s, this shop will become your new summer time outlet store. Those sunny days are so close I can taste the sunscreen.

Well what more can I say about the Bendon Outlet store then it’s the only place to go when you need a little bit more va va voom in your life. The key to feeling sexy is to start with sexy lingerie, my favourite has always been the Elle Macpherson Intimates range , the only problem is when you are a student it’s a little hard to justify $100 on a bra. This is where you need to play your cards right and head along to the Bendon Outlet – even students need to feel sexy as they are slaving away over that assignment due tomorrow morning.

Why go to just one outlet when you can go to a mall full of them? Before you head to you local Westfield and fill your wardrobe with new season gear, head over to Dressmart and check out last season’s treasures and rock bottom prices. This is the perfect place to shop when you are heading overseas to a wintery wonderland and all of the kiwi shops are stocking bikinis and jandals.

Looking for an outlet store over the shore? If you haven’t been to the Fox Outlet Centre before, make sure to put it on your list of things to do. One of my main reasons to get off the motorway at Northcote is to make a stop by the Pack & Pedal outlet. With up to 70% off it’s the perfect place to spend that money your nana slipped into her annual five page Christmas letter.

Don’t hold back because you might chip a nail. I love getting the Orly Gel FX Gel Nail Polish at this beauty bar because it leaves my nails feeling hardy and chip-free for at least two weeks. It only costs $44 and you’re out in 30 to 40 minutes.

Rose’s is pricey, but you pay for what you get. They can fix almost anything and the service is great. Be warned however, "fixing" your clothes to your exact specifications can be addictive!
