Every concert I have been to at Vector; Steamship is always the place to meet the crew before the event! Always absolutely packed these nights, but the staff are so fast the waitresses are so efficient and never forget a face (or a drink to a face)! Before U2 played, they had a live band here trialling their talent and also had a Pink Floyd cover group before David Gilmour. The Rock are always promoting this place, and I see why! We almost missed half the concert thanks to the enjoyment of this place!!
We went here last night as a big group for my friends birthday. The staff were awesome and really on to it. Some even cracking jokes and laughing. This added to the atmosphere of the place and made it really enjoyable. The venue is AWESOME! Its not like your usual club/bar which is really good for those people who want to try something new. The art on the walls and the lamps are terrific and the seating is really comfortable. The vibe was amazing when the DJ started playing the music as it was relaxed yet sophisticated. Will recommend this place for sure.
Northern Steamship is always a quality stop-off for me. I've been here for coffee, tapas, a casual drink, to share platters with friends, lunch, some end-of-an-evening G'n'Ts, you name it. Great pub fare, good beers, awesome people and a neat setting. And if your company is getting a little bit flat you can always pull out a National Geographic... they're in chronological order, so put it back where you found it! Added bonus that Pack staff get epic discounts ;)
We went to the Northern Steamship for our Xmas do last night. We had reserved a table for dinner a few days earlier so did not expect to be seated next to the restrooms - come the holiday season I guess beggars cannot be choosers. On our first order the waitress forgot a glass of wine, on the second she forgot an entree and by the third we were not entirely surprised to be missing a main course. As for dessert the waitress took our order and went to place it with the kitchen. 10 minutes later we were later told that they had run out of Brulée so we had to re-order. Despite the poor service and strange seating position (the kitchen and main food booths are on the opposite side of the bar) the food was good.
