Places to buy hard to find makeup
- 13Atrium on Elliot MallAuckland CentralThis place is filled with korean makeup goodness. Brands like Tony moly, Etude house, 3CE and many more can be found in some of the cutest shops. But I also discovered western brands like Makeup Forever and Sleek hiding in the corners of shops.
- 21Studio glamNew LynnIf you’re looking for lashes or Lime Crime, BH cosmetics, Models own and so many more, this is the place to look. They have testers too which is great.
- 343Smith & Caughey'sAuckland CentralFor all your mid to high end makeup needs. It carries brands such as Mac, Bobbi Brown, Estee Lauder, Benefit, YSL and more.
- 45Mecca Cosmetica NewmarketNewmarketThis should be higher up but is probably quite well known by makeup lovers. Wide range of mid to high end makeup and they have had some recent price drops.

Meanest Hot chocolates
- 111Chocolate BrownWarkworthThe house hot chocolate is THE best hot choc i’ve ever tasted. I’ve taken family and friends here as well and they feel the same way. It’s made with belgian chocolate and is not too sweet and so creamy. Heaven in a glass.
- 247Chocolate Boutique CafeParnell2nd best hot chocolate in Auckland - I love the italian denso but a word of caution.. it is quite strong and usually I can only finish about 3/4th. This stuff is pretty thick and very creamy, with rich dark chocolate. The cafe itself is very small so be prepared to wait for seats or get takeaway.
- 332The Hardware CafeTitirangiThe location is half the reason why I like this place. Nestled in the cute titirangi village, with friendly staff and giant bowls of hot chocolate.. this place is worth a visit.
- 413Theobroma Chocolate LoungeMount WellingtonI suggest this place with caution. I love the hot chocolate but really wouldn’t go there to eat. The hot chocolate comes with a tea light warmer underneath which I think is pretty nice. I didn’t like the one at St Lukes but the Mt Wellington place is nice.

Om nom nom
- 15Cafe AbyssiniaMount RoskillAuckland’s only Ethiopian restaurant. The whole experience is so unique - these are meals meant to share so go with an open mind and clean hands. The owners are super friendly and the decoration has a full on african vibe. As for the meals, they come served on injera bread which is basically like a really really large sourish pancake, served with your choice of meats in the middle. Always fresh and so tasty - I highly reccomend this place.
- 2121Depot Eatery & Oyster BarAuckland CentralThere’s a reason this place is always jam packed. Chef Al Brown’s attention to detail and emphasis on good customer service makes Depot an all round great experience. They don’t do reservations but you can put your name on a waiting list. The staff have always been lovely and food is delicious. Highly reccomend the turbot sliders, fig toasties and sugar pie.
- 38Hokkaido Restaurant & BarMount WellingtonI love the seating, the friendly staff and the amazing food. We have tried almost everything on the menu and everything has been so tasty so far. The only thing that was a little underwhelming is the fried squid. The cheesy salmon and bacon wrapped prawns are some favourites.
- 45Narm Thong Thai RestaurantMt RoskillSome of the most authentic tasting thai food. Special mention goes to the red duck curry and Talay Ka Ta (hopefully i’ve got that one right…it’s a stir fry). Beautiful wood carved menus and thai style gold cuttlery. The location isn’t too great..it’s not where i’d expect a nice restaurant but don’t let the exterior put you off.
- 524Sun World Chinese RestaurantNewmarketThis is one of my favourite yum cha restaurants. They have a pretty wide selection and the food is pretty tasty. Not to mention the yummy desserts.

- 31Herdman Shore CityTakapunaAnother place for incredibly comfortable shoes. Pricey but you can tell that they’re good quality. Also great for work shoes and cute bags.
- 43Mi Piaci - St LukesSt LukesIf i’m looking for heels, this is usally the first place i’d check.
- 52Number One Shoes OnehungaOnehungaCheap shoes - don’t expect these to last a long time but if you need a pair for an occasion or not everyday use, then definitely check out no. 1 shoes. Although in saying that, I bought a pair of boots from here years ago and they are still going strong. Heels don’t seem to last very long though.
