Want to give your man a great time dining out? If watching a rugby match by the garden bar over craft beer is your thing, you’ll surely enjoy The Elephant Wrestler at Takapuna. Just a few minutes away from the beach, this pub is also a go-to place among locals for almost any kind of entertainment during the week: they host live musical performances, Tuesday quiz night, Summer Jam Jars, free dessert on a Wrestler Date Night, among others. With the Superbowl, UFC, and boxing matches covered every now and then, The Elephant Wrestler is truly a place any sports-loving bloke will enjoy.
I've been to the Elephant Wrestler about 7 times in the last two years. And every single time, they've been efficient, helpful and food has always been excellent. I'd like to highly commend a waitress Katie (Irish girl) for being very attentive and using her personality as part of the service she provided. My friends and I thought she was excellent. I would go so much more often if I lived on the shore. Otherwise that is always the place I like to dine at. Thanks Katie and the EW team. Keep it up!!
North of the bridge lies this spacious, light-filled venue that teams rugby matches on the big screen with yummy pub food. I tried the lamb pizza when I visited and it was a succulent, tasty treat. Cheap meals on Mondays are a draw card too and, in the summer, they retract the roof for an open-air experience. What I'm really excited for though is the that they're showing the All Blacks early morning Rugby World Cup games this year. I'll definitely be down here with a hot coffee in hand and my All Blacks jersey on come game time!
This is a great place to get together with friends on a Saturday night, they have dancing inside and a nice patio for outside and even half of the patio is covered which is so great!!!! and its also no too loud outside so you can still have a conversation with friends and actually hear them! Great Place:)
