We spent the weekend at SkyCity to celebrate my mums birthday and was really happy with the room, the service, the staff. Everything went well for my mums birthday weekend, she really enjoyed her stay at SkyCity.

We stay in hotels, especially in Auckland, a lot.  It was my birthday so decided to book a night in central Auckland near the restaurant I had booked to take my friends out to dinner to celebrate with me. We had stayed here before and found it fantastic but had an issue with noise from the street, which I happened to mention in my hotel survey.  The response was phenomenal.. we were  instantly offered an upgrade on our next stay.   So I booked for my family (2 Adults & 2 children) and we were put into a suite (on the Hobson Street side which was very quiet) and then given free breakfast for the 4 of us since it was my 'special' birthday.  The customer service when dealing with the hotel was above and beyond, it was by far the best service I have ever been given ( and I should know I worked in Customer Services as a Manager in the IT industry for years).  Well done Skycity Hotel  on exceeding all my expectations on every level.   The room was divine.... huge with 2 large comfy beds and large TV in one room, sliding door to a large lounge with another tv, couch, chairs etc, stereo and mini bar.  Leading from one side of this huge room to the other was separate shower, toilet and bath.  Every need was catered for right down to the plush bathrobes and slippers.   The service was fabulous and oh so friendly.  The breakfast was extensive and of a very good standard in a lovely environment with a view over the city.   We even left $250 up from a dabble in the casino.. it was my best birthday ever.  Thank you Skycity - we will be back as soon as I can think of a good reason.

Went there with my 3 year and his cousin they had so much fun ... the staff were friendly although a lil pricey but the veiw was well worth it

fun and games always an option with the right attitude

If you're looking for something to do with your precious two days off a week I recommend checking out what's on at the theatres around Auckland. There's generally no shortage of good shows on or movies being screened. Current I'm spoiled for choice as the New Zealand Film Festival is upon us. This has seen me flitting between the Civic and the SkyCity theatre for the last couple of weeks. The service at the SkyCity theatre is always great and there is a small bar with a variety of drinks and snacks. The entertainment that moves through the venue is of a high calibre and nothing quite beats the experience of going to the theatre.

What do I say? Thanks for the $5000? Sure that'll do.

Awesome views and lovely restaurants

Went up to The Observatory restaurant and had delicious buffet. The wide range of items on the buffet table were amazing. You need to have an empty stomach to be able to try out all the items. I truly love the widespread of salad and desserts. Amazing views of Auckland and sometimes if your lucky, you can also see people doing bungy of the SkyTower.

Stayed in the hotel for a sisters wedding.  It was nice - looked out over Victoria Street which was novel.  Very nice place, helpful staff, cannot complain at all.

Love skycity, been the last few times we managed to get the grandies to babysit, is a great night out. Casino is huge, tried out a few of the restaurants over the last few years and never been disappointed.  With parking as well it provides a great place for all night entertainment without having to go outside on a rainy night.  The only let down was the hotel, although a nice room, it wasn't ready when we got there and then it was next to the lifts so we were kept awake all night by people coming and going :-( Dont't think we'd stay there again.
