Hurstmere Rd Brewbar is pretty much custom built for whatever you need it to be. Sitting in the middle of Takapuna on Hurstmere Road (funnily enough) the courtyard catches the sun, and the food and beer are pretty great. Inside we have couches to loung...

Tonight's place for drinks- extensive drinks menu and nice layout inside- was quite surprised as you couldn't tell by looking from the street. Nice decor and it's very wide and open. Cool specials and nice bathroom down a long hallway. The Jucy Lucy was good, they have coronas- friends were happy. Great service. Recommend for sure

    Delicious beers, great meals. And this place is often on grabone for vouchers, well worth picking up as many as possible as this place has great value food and drink. My wife and I have been here on many occasions and thoroughly enjoyed it every time, even though it's quite pubby, we loved it.

        The atmosphere is great, it’s quite a young crowd (even during rugby nights). Outdoor fire is a nice touch and there is a lot of room and tables to grab! Quick to serve during busy times and I must be the first to say the coffee is really nice! (in a pub)!!! Lol.

          Macs bar is great to have a casual drink on the weekend. I have only ever eaten there once and the pizza was great! The atmosphere is great there on a hot summers day along with thier selections  on beers and ciders. If there is a sports game on though they usually have the tvs on and the rooms attention becomes directed at them! They also have a great private room.

            Pro: good beer & atmosphere Con: No con really I quite like the unique interior designs of all the Mac's Brew Bars and the beer is my preferred brand anyways (or their cider). The food which I had there before was also very nice and I only found out that they also serve coffee, which I haven't tasted though. I like the open and welcoming atmosphere and that people also bring their kids.

              Have been to Mac's a few times now and we love it. Although I have to say when we went yesterday we were a little disppointed with the food. But in saying that every other time we have really enjoyed it. I think because this time we strayed away from what we normally have. I love the decor of the place and it is a nice spot for a Sunday Brunch/Lunch after enjoying the morning out at the markets.

                Not sure why cannot give them rating, If I could, that would be 1 only because their service and attitude to customer is so bad and rude. Went to the restaurant with my family and friend’s family last weekend to use our grabone vouchers. A happy dinner time turns out to be a very bad experience because of the bad and rude attitude of the owner and staff. They never care what customer needs and think, and when you try to reason with them, what they said is just ” I don’t care.” This is the worst attitude we ever seen in a restaurant, and wondering how far they could go with this attitude to customers? will never go there again. NOT recommended.

                Thats a shame you had such a bad experience. We've never had bad experiences. But then again we've usually only been for lunch so can not comment on what it is like at Dinner service.
