Grand Central Ponsonby Between 4 and 7pm Grand Central offer a two for one special that applies to any beverage. Yep, beer, cocktails, wine by the glass or bottle - you name it, they'll give you your second for free. Sit outside and watch the world go by, or order a meal from Bolliwood or Burger Fuel and down it with your beverages. Chances are some great local act will be filling the bar with jazz, funk or soul and before you know it it'll be 5am and time for close.
Love the outdoor setting, especially in the summer. Staff are friendly but this place is really popular so it does it mega packed. Had to wait about 15mins at the bar before we got served and they also had a random $5 door charge at the door, which is never cool. All in all, great place...when you can get a seat!
Ok so Grand Central doesnt really spring to mind when you think of for drinks - it's normally the last stop on a night out!!! BUT with their great happy hour deal, Friday nights here are a hoot! The staff are friendly, fun and provide fast service, so much on offer with their beverages, and the fact that Happy Hour is 2 for 1 makes it a great place to start your night! From 5 - 7 you can purchase a bottle of wine or beer or cocktail and receive another free!! There aren't many places in AKL that offer this service!! Highly recommended!
The place to be. The staff is personal and engaging, and the drinks are perfect. Live music all the time in a hip but not too posh spot in Ponsonby. If you like Ponsonby but get a little put off by the "over poshness" :D then without a doubt this is the place to go. Never been disappointed! You guys rock!
