I am a big fan of them now!

this BYO resturant is fantastic for a small or large gathering! the food is great, the atmosphere friendly and the staff helpful. a must go resturant for anyone wanting cheep good quality food!

This place does really nice food that's friendly on the wallet. They always offer friendly service and complementary tea, pretty sure it's jasmine. If you ever go to Hansan Vietnamese, I would recommend you get something with lemongrass - such as chicken and veges on rice (I'm pretty sure they only have this with noodles on the menu, but they're more than happy to do it with rice to - they're also happy to do things in vegetarian form, you just have to ask) - the lemongrass makes the whole dish so refreshing and delicious, and don't forget to pour the sauce gently over your rice so it absorbs its wonderful flavour. Overall. if you are in want of a delicious, filling meal that's easy on the wallet and is served up in a friendly environment in a reasonably central location, come here, you won't regret it.

Great food with lovely fresh vegetables and the price is a massive bonus - soft drinks and meals for two of us came to less than $25.

I'm a big fan of Vietnamese food having been there last year. All I can say about Hansan is that it comes nothing close to the the real thing. Even though the food is served fast and promptly, I find the dishes greasy and unappealing. It's good if you're just after some quick food to eat, but taste-wise, Hansan is your McDonalds of Asian food .

The thing with Hansan is that it is what it is. Cheap, efficient and lots of food to choose from. The exciting thing about Hansan is that they opened a branch in Newmarket and they really stepped up the mark in terms of ambience. Compared to their other sister restaurants in Auckland and many other Vietnamese restaurant (in the same price range), it’s done great. Also, the fact that after a day shopping in expensive New Market I can still get a delicious dinner for less than $15 is such fabulous. My favourite is the raw beef pho (make sure you add the bean sprouts, the lemon juice and extra pepper to get the perfect taste) and the deep fried Vietnamese Spring Rolls.

Hansan is a popular chain of Vietnamese restaurants - with (currently) three branches around Auckland. The Nuffield branch is clean, open, and service is friendly and highly efficient, - once you are seated, a pot of hot Chinese tea is quickly brought to the table. the menu is very extensive, however, the food was a bit disappointing. The deep-fried spring rolls ($4.50) served hot and eaten wrapped in lettuce leaves dipped in sweet chilli sauce tasted stale. It was obviously fried hours ago and re-heated. However, I have heard that this is fantastic if they had just been fried, so unfortunately, the food is not consistent. Hansan's version of 'Pho', raw beef rice noodle soup $9.80 did not make the mark either. The soup was bland and the beef slices were tough. However, their curry chicken noodle soup ($10.80) was rich and flavoursome. The drinks menu was a real winner though. The jackfruit shake is sublime, and the mango shake was delicious. This is a good place for a quick no-fuss meal, though not for truly authentic Vietnamese food. I found it a bit not very authentic though. Don't get me wrong, food is still very tasty.

Hansen is one of my favourite places in Auckland. If I'm honest I prefer the sticky Formica austerity of the Panmure branch but the food at both joints is amazing. Simple food, good value, love it.
