For Michael Dearth, who opened fine-dining restaurant The Grove in 2004, his new eatery Baduzzi is a way for him to get back to his Italian-American roots.
The restaurant name comes from the Sicilian word for "meatballs" - a staple of Michael's household when growing up. There is an entire section dedicated to them at Baduzzi, as well as a selection of other great Italian dishes.
Go in for a hearty breakfast of Italian baked eggs, a meatball sub at lunchtime or settle in for the evening for a meal of great Italian fare.

Fantastically busy and buzzing. Outstanding food which warrants the regular appearance of this place in various top restaurant lists. Every dish a masterpiece, but what really sets this place apart is the staff: confident, knowledgeable and on pointe, with a degree of enthusiasm I've not seen anywhere else in NZ. Bravo!
I went here with friends ( who won a meal here from a radio promo ) I had the pork belly and it tasted so amazing the inside decor is so pretty and the staff are so helpful and friendly i can assure you i never had a empty glass on the table, the starter tasted so good i wish i could go home and cook like this and the dessert is heavanly would definatly reccomend heading here 5 stars
