"My Country: Contemporary Art from Black Australia comes to Auckland Art Gallery from Friday 28 March - Sunday 20 July 2014. Showcasing the largest and most significant exhibition of contemporary Indigenous Australian art ever seen in New Zealand, My Country presents recent work by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists and explores their connections with land and nation. Nearly 100 works by over 40 artists, such as Vernon Ah Kee, Richard Bell, Bindi Cole, Fiona Foley, Mirdidingkingathi Juwarrnda Sally Gabori, Tony Albert and filmmaker Warwick Thornton, present personal, ancestral and indigenous perspectives on past and present relations with the vast expanse of the Australian continent. Included with My Country is Kangaroo Crew, a QAGOMA Children's Art Centre exhibition developed in collaboration with Indigenous Australian artist Gordon Hookey, from the Waanyi people. The free and family-friendly exhibition explores the artist's story of four kangaroos whose home on a sacred hill is threatened by the arrival of myna birds. My Country offers fresh insights into Indigenous Australia and the creativity of its artists. The art is moving, stimulating and wide-ranging."
"Such a variety of work all displayed in a constantly surprising building. The gallery itself is almost as much of an attraction as the art inside. Love the whole feeling of space and texture. Great if you have some time to kill or bring the family and make a day of it."

"I first found out about the Depot through my very first Auckland's taste festival experience. As a true kiwi girl from the far north I am a seafood lover from way back with a big love of food. I stumbled across the Depot tent at the festival and the first thing I gravitated towards was the delicious and amazing oysters! Amazingly fresh with a tangy it took me back to the days of going and picking them with my dad from our local wharf as a kid. Needless to say I used most of my crowns(coupons to purchase food and drinks) on the Depot tent I was addicted. After that fish sliders, Warahou tortilla’s I was in Heaven. I have been to a lot of restaurants in Auckland city but the Depot for me is the ultimate dinner it has the most amazing food and not just that it has great chefs and service also great selection of beer and wine and even if you are not a seafood lover Al brown and his crew have made a menu to satisfy all so If I was you I would book a table and try it out I promise you will not be disappointing."
"This is one of the few places that can get me to try pretty much an tapa dish as I am usually quite cautious and a bit fussy about what I will eat, but I know whatever I eat here will taste amazing! I love the old rustic decor and the friendly staff as well, the theme is carried consistently throughout everything. Amazing place and still the best tapas I've ever had."

"She’s free to Aucklanders. Take a household bill and they’ll sort you out a free card to to flash each time you come. Craft activities for the kids need a gold coin donation. free lockers in the Kai room above the atrium, or the bagcheck in the foyer. Loads to see. Great on a wet day or if you’re too sunned out."

"Sal’s pizza is consistently delicious store to store, but Commerce St was the first and the best. The pizza is delicious of course, but the pepperoni wheels are what I keep coming back for. They are seriously incredible and talking about them is making me hungry. The garlic knots are also notable, and very affordable. If you somehow haven’t ever eaten at Sal’s, I recommend rectifying that asap."
