"My friend took me to Real groovy for the first time ever about 6 weeks ago! What a place, it is full of books cds games and so much more! Inside real groovy there is even a small retro/vintage clothing area which has a huge amount of clothing and cow boy boots. Real groovy also has a sale rack for those that are on a tight budget!"
"I visit Real Groovy at least once a month. It's probably my favourite shopping experience in Auckland."
"We all know that Real Groovy have an AMAZING selection of music, like ah-mazing. What I want to draw attention to is the equally awesome selection of books. These are books for the cultured; think tattoos, graphic novels, warzone photography and biographies of music legends. These are books for those who crave more, those who dream big and those who live life loud. Prepare to double the time you spend here once you discover the books on offer!"

"Absolute BEST eyebrow threading and waxing in the City! When I moved to Auckland a year ago, I was lucky enough to move into an apartment just around the corner from this little gem. Now, even though I travel a lot, I refuse to go anywhere but "Forever shine Beauty Therapy". Ronita and her staff are not only incredibly skilled, particularly in eyebrow threading and waxing, but also offer a holistic approach towards beauty therapy. Her and her staff are calm, friendly and even offer me helpful advice when I offload my troubles onto them..and when moving to a new, big City by yourself, this means A LOT! Thank You Forever Shine, you're my little Gem! xx"
" I've just had a great experience at Forever Shine Mount Eden! Have definitely found my new beauty therapist after moving to Auckland. Ronita was very professional and lovely to talk to. She did an amazing job threading my eyebrows, and the waxing was quick and easy...no mucking around. And I've already booked to head back in a months time. Thanks! Anna"
" I'm new to Auckland and came across Forever Shine by chance. Finding a beautician in a new city is not easy, let along finding a good one. I was very pleased when i went to Forever Shine for the first time and had my first eye brow threading experience. My eyebrows look great!! The service was lovely and the prices are awesome!! Pleased to say I have found my new beautician! :)"

"If you are a beauty freak like me then the news that San Francisco brand Benefit had finally arrived in New Zealand would have been greeted with much joy. They are renowned for their cute, quirky campaigns and their amazing brow bars, one of which can now be found smack bang in the middle of Smith & Caughey’s Queen Street branch. They do a fast, seriously great job and work with what Mother Nature gave you, as well as taking walk ins. Hallelujah."

"Book shops are my happy place, and Auckland has some amazing literary destinations that are a hell of a lot more fun then staring at an e-book. One of my favourites is Unity Books in High Street, where you’ll find the best of new international releases as well as a brilliant selection of local publications. Their staff picks are always spot on too, so if you need a little extra inspiration keep an eye out for them dotted around the store. Perfect lazy Sunday activity at its best!"
"For all of your book-geek needs head to Unity on High Street. You will love the huge selection and little gems here and will most likely spend hours just flicking through the pages of nice new books. Close to inner city parks so I’d suggest taking your new purchase into nature to get a bit more familiar with each other."

"The best sushi I have ever had!!! Their grill is also to die for. Beautiful food, high quality ingredients."
"This is another 5 star hotel for those of you who can afford to splash some pennies about. The Langham is where many celebrities visiting New Zealand tend to stay and the likes of Justin Bieber and One Direction have temporarily resided here. If that does not sway your decision in a positive way then all you need to see is some photographic evidence of the aesthetics of this place. It is extremely high class and definitely on the more expensive side of things. The hotel also hosts the well-known restaurant Eight which is a seafood lovers dream. The public are also welcome to have high-tea here which all makes for an extremely classy outing. Best put on your best fake British accent to fit in here!"

"From the first time I came in here, to consultation, to finally getting inked, these guys were legendary. So welcoming and awesomely cool, the team at Mai Tattoo aren't those cliquey tattoo artists who judge you for that tramp stamp you've been eking to get since you turned 18... hahaha but really, they are so kind. Rocky was incredibly polite and helpful in setting me up with the right artist, and Ray (my tattoo artist) was amazing! Straight away in consultation I felt really confident that I was being listened to, as well as having my ideas seriously considered. Ray was on the same page as I am in that a tattoo is not just a work of art that you choose but that your artist has to put a little of themselves into - that's why you choose them carefully, and I was really lucky with mine that the first one I found was perfect. Having the tattoo done was easy breezy (yeah, even with 2 hours of shading on my ankle bone: mildly painful) and I was really encouraged by all the crew popping by to compliment and support. Aftercare was all taken care of and Ray didn't even charge me for 45mins of work - he quoted 2hrs so 2hrs he charged for, and I really respect that. He even offered for free touch ups which is such an awesome venture - no having to worry about the 'next morning' when you start seeing those little imperfections... but really, on my ink, there are none of those. Super happy with the result, something I will wear with pride and have for life."

"The Whitcoulls located at Queen Street is my favourite place to go to especially when I need to get a gift for a friend. The store is massive and has many floors. The service provided by the staff is excellent and they are very helpful. The wide variety of books and choice of stationary it offers makes it a one stop shop for all book and stationary lovers."
"Sometimes you just can’t go past good old Whitcoulls for your everyday card needs. My favourite are the novelty giant cards! Just maybe makesure that you have enough people to sign it otherwise it can look a little silly. When it’s filled to the brim its a sure fire way to make someone realise how much you care about them."

"This place was really nice! Piles of free pink macaroons on arrival was a sweet treat. Staff were really friendly and informative. Rooms were of a good size. Buffet breakfast was delish"
" We stayed here for my Sister In Laws Wedding and I was wowed by the professionalism of the whole place. The staff are fantastic and I really enjoyed our time here. The Hotel Suite was immaculate, the food was superb but the service was truly fabulous (think getting a bottle of formula warmed at 2am is a hassle? Not an eyelid flinched) Would highly recommend,"

"The Bread and Butter Letter have relocated to K Rd, and the new store looks great! Still stocking a tasteful array of accessories, vintage clothing and gift items, make this your go-to when you need a little something for yourself, or anyone else."

"Pictured is a pile of clothing in the CBD's recycle boutique waiting to be sorted through. Who knows what might be in those bags, perhaps it's just a whole lot of Ed Hardy cast offs or perhaps it's a bag full of vintage treasure! That's the best thing about Recycle Boutique - you never quite know what you're coming to come across. There's a great selection of men and woman's pre-loved clothing and accessories to pick from although it may take a while to find the treasure. About four years ago I picked up a great duffel coat there, and it's still a staple today. Definitely worth a browse."
"Just off Queens Street, down from The Body Shop. Clean out your own wardrobe, drop it off here and pick up some bargins."
"I find something every time I visit this place, but be sure to set aside at least an hour if you really want a good search because this place is filled to the brim. The majority of it is pretty average (depending on your style of course but personally this is how I feel and I consider myself to be pretty sassy) The stuff here is pretty mainstream though not so much vintage as you would find with op shops on say K road. But there are still some really great finds to be had here!"

"I Love Ugly has premium style for the suave modern man down! The eye of the designer here is super sharp, the details are always really considered. The prints they use are dope, especially love the trippy vibes of the mushroom one, and the embroidered grizzly bear pants and sweater for this season."
