"I have found so many fab treasures from Junk and Disorderly... Love having them on my list of must visit stores"
"Perfect for that hard to buy for loved one, Junk and Disorderly is definitely more hit than miss (unusual for a "junk" store! Full to the brim with fabulous trinkets and oddments, it's where I am going shopping for my quirky and artistic friends who don't care about price tags. I hope people go shopping for me here, too ;)"

"The amazing Jasons Books in the Central City buys and sells second-hand, out-of-print and rare books. They have been a presence in the centre of Auckland for over 40 years, and have over 20,000 quality books covering most fields of interest."
"Not your average second hand book shop, the emphasis here is on quality, you won't find Mills & Boon on these shelves! Beautiful hard wood floors make you feel like you're exploring a beautiful old library. Come here to find those rare, special and collectable books."

"Very cute 2nd hand bookstore which has premised here for years and years. I found some great biographies here of my fave musicians! Thanks to the help of Graeme and his mother. Do stop in for a looksey !!!"
" Organising books is well over-rated, Graeme has a fantastic shop full of oddities, its worth the walk and well worth spending half an hour or so scouring the shelves, greame is knowledgable and full of enthusiasm when it comes to books, i recommend making sure you have a chat with him."
24 St George Street, Papatoetoe, Auckland 2025
492 Marua Road, Ellerslie, Auckland
" Always find something good there. Best thing is you can bring books back and get the ones you buy new half-price! Makes reading a lot more affordable."
" Typical of most second-hand book stores, Ellerslie Book Exchange is a bit cluttered and it can be hard to know where to look if you're after something specific. That being said, if you've got a half-hour to spare, you're bound to find something worth buying. Their books are always in excellent conviction, and they seem to avoid buying in the crappier sorts of paperbacks, so what is in stock is generally pretty worthwhile. Generally a few decent CDs and DVDs to be rifled through as well. It's nice that these sorts of local businesses still exist. Ellerslie Book Exchange is well worth checking out. Also: before of after your visit, you can grab something to eat from Mexican Specialities next door."
3/570 Te Atatu Road, Te Atatu Peninsula, Auckland 0610
"If you don't live in Te Atatu Peninsula, and love reading, it's worth coming to the Peninsula just for a browse at Off the Shelf books. It's a really quaint shop with a good selection of second hand books. You never know what you may find. They also buy books for cash or give you a credit to buy more books. We've found them to be more generous than other second hand book buyers. The owner is really involved in the local community and makes it a great place to live."
" With a big selection of books and a laid back , friendly atmosphere I would recommend anyone with a love of reading take a trip to Off the Shelf books. The staff are friendly and you are certainly likely to find lots of books to tempt you. it really is A lovely place to get lost in! And a great place for a browse!"
6 High Street, Auckland Central, Auckland 1010
9 Ellis Avenue, Mount Roskill, Auckland 1041
"I love this place - full of second hand (or pre-loved) books a other resources, you can browse for hours and come across numerous gems of wisdom. Tucked away in the suburb of Mt Roskill, once you’ve been you’ll want to return often to see what surprises have been added to the fold."
" There are several books here on my wishlist. They've got a heap to choose from - lots of modern titles, second hand but most still in great condition, for prices around the $20 mark for a hardcover. Their selection of vintage and rare books is very impressive - I think I saw one bible there from the 1500s, and a bunch of old vintage 1930s manuals to teach young society ladies how to be demure... great for a coffee table."
70 Khyber Pass Road, Grafton, Auckland 2023
(09) 306 6444
"Entering this place always reminds me of how op shops used to be (and still should be) before they became so popular. It's set in the basement of a quaint old church and staffed by lovely older ladies. In good op shop tradition, you never quite know what bargains you are going to find. I've found some good buys here each time I visit. It's very centrally located and there is free parking just outside, which is handy given the location."
