Mint Leaf is one of those hidden gems that only locals seem to know about. The unpretentious exterior could fool you into thinking this was just your average Indian takeaway, but that would certainly be a mistake.
Their many regular customers rave about their extensive menu of authentic Indian meals which can easily match what you would find in some of the city's more upmarket Indian Restaurants.
Choose from a selection of delicious meat, seafood and vegetarian dishes, accompanied by some naan or roti served straight from the oven.
Try their tasty butter chicken with big chunks of chicken and a sauce which is just the right balance of sweet and creamy, With their portions being so generous, there is always enough left over for tomorrows lunch.

I have been going to Mint Leaf, once a week for the past few months, to buy the buttered chicken. At first the people, in particular the older lady, were nice, but each time I returned the service gets worse and worse and they either reduce the quantity of the buttered chicken in the container or charge me slightly more than the price on the menu. She seems quite smug in doing so. When I went on Saturday night they started to ‘heckle’ me when I looked at the butter chicken and the older lady ignored me completely. I wont be going back again—so that’s $20 a week they now miss.
Having tried every Indian restaurant in the Birkenhead area (all of which are pretty decent), I never thought to give Mint Leaf a go as it certainly doesn't look too flash from the outside. After a rave review from my workmate, I was pleasantly surprised to find it is actually serves up the best Indian food I have had in a long time. With huge portions sizes and generous helpings of meat in their curries, I have happily returned time and time again.
Having just moved to Birkdale. I have been looking for a good / great Indian takeaway and I've found it. Stopped in on Friday (03/05/2013) and picked up a copy of their menu, phone back later that night and did a phone takeaway order. The food was great, the flavours were divine and it was spiced just right. If you live in Birkdale or near by, come here and try their food, I'm sure you'll be just as impressed as I am.
