Trash, trash, glorious trash!

Super Trash is a celebration of the pure madness of second hand shopping: hunting gingerly amongst mountains of junk in the hopes of finding a hidden gem. Ponsonby can have their pristinely curated ceramic seals and tiny crystal skulls, this is thrift shopping at it's finest.

Treasure finding is very possible at super trash; it is filled from ceiling to floor with furniture, art, toys curios and collectibles. The owner may survey you like a dusty king but don't worry, he loves trash as much as you do.

Just don't try to pay with EFTPOS.

Super Trash is an absolutely ridiculous store. I love it. It sort of feels like it’s your grumpy great-uncle’s attic, and you’re allowed to look through it but only if you don’t mess anything up. There’s a lot of trash, if we’re being honest, but there’s also a lot of treasure and it’s so much fun to wander around and pick through the piles- the place is just jam-packed with interesting bits and bobs, and if you’re looking for a weird and unique gift but don’t know what, this is a good place to find it. The owner/operator is a wee bit grouchy but you’ll leave with a bargain.

Great place to spend an hour rummaging through boxes for something you don't really need but really want!

Supertrash is certainly a unique store - it's almost like walking into a garage that hasn't been touched in a while, complete with dust, and random items piled high that you sometimes have to climb over. There are definately some amazing things to be found however - so don't let the dust put you off. The store owner is also unique, you never know whether he is going to be friendly or downright rude, and his prices seem to come from no where, some things are rediculously cheap, while others not so much.

My mates showed me this Womble Mecca today. The treasures are not polished up, so you can still grab a bargain without fear of it being labelled an "antique" and marked up beyond all affordability.
