Came in July with a few friends for an early lunch catchup. Had a noodle soup. Very filling and warm. Didn't take long to come out. Only real complaint in the small store and few seats. It was quite cold and windy that day and we didn't want to sit outside. Even sitting inside, we were very close to the door so it was still chilly. The food was great though!

I love renkon. The menu is easy to follow and I always know straight away what to choose(most of the time salmon terijaki) . The food is just so nice! Fresh and perfectly cooked food, a set $11.50 per meal. Plus free Japanese tea! Also the outside bit is nice in summer!

Nice review :)

I love renkon. The menu is small and easy to follow. The food is just wonderful! I always order chilli beef . Fresh and perfectly cooked food for a fraction of what you might pay elsewhere: a set $11.50 per meal. Plus endless (and free) delicious Japanese tea, magazines to read and a great atmosphere.   The space is a bit cramped but who cares,  I will be going back often.

Neat review :)

Sometimes food options around K rd can feel a little slim - but it's nice to know Renkon is always there to fall back on. Their menu seems to have been standardised to match other Renkons which is a little disappointing - I miss the potato katsu - but it's still reliable.

Healthy choice of quick Japanese dish. Really yummy

Neat :)

Renkon is so yummy and there menu options are easy to choose from. Great for lunch with a colleague or after work snack. There's a nice outdoor area behind the kitchen for dining in.

Great :)

Great location, yummy food. Stop in and check it out. Katsu chicken with extra mayo is the best!

Good :)

The most consistently great cheap 'n' cheerful Japanese restaurant in Auckland.  Locations in Durham Lane East, Pitt Street and Ponsonby.  Vegetarian and non-vegetarian options available, and dishes can be prepared with different meat options (e.g. chicken, pork, beef or salmon).  Complimentary Japanese Green Tea!  A firm favourite and would always recommend to friends.
