Just a walk away from the waterside suburb of Devonport, Narrow Neck Beach is a blessing on a hot summer day and epitomises our Kiwi beach culture.

With its golden sand, lazy waves and the view Rangitoto across the water, Narrow Neck is an inviting way to spend a summer day and soak up the sun. Walks along the beach reveal small secret beaches and bays hidden in amongst the cliffs, and when the tide's not in, Cheltenham beach is a walk away too.

If surf and sand is something you'd rather avoid, just across the beach there's a field and playground where picnics are just waiting to occur, and the cafe culture of the area is loved by locals.

Spent a lovely, lazy day at Narrow Neck beach - found a shaded spot just above the sand for a family picnic, and after all the swimming was done (and food demolished!), we moved to the park across the road to bring out the soccer ball. It's a safe beach with a great atmosphere.

Great beach from swimming or for walking along. Great place to walk the dogs and a nice big park just across the road with volleyball net set up. There is also a beachfront playground and cafe which will keep you and the kiddies entertained for hours!

It is a bit of a small beach, but it’s beautiful. Parking available. Small shops before the waterfront. Lots of green grass above the beach part and shade available. Some hidden beaches if you continue to walk the coast around the rocks. Lovely place.
