Dragon's Gourmet is a bright, friendly looking place near the Westfield. It's a bit hard to find in the dark but once you're inside you forget about the wintery night.

Busy restaurant filled with locals which is always a great sign.  Nice staff with good menu of unusual food.  I ordered a selection of dishes and was pleasantly surprised by them all.  Excellent service.  Good value.  worth a trip.

What a wonderfully refreshing change from run of the mill Asian food.  This place was buzzing and bulging at the seams at 1.30pm today.  As the only Europeans in the place I knew it must be good. It was quite hard to find this restaurant but once spotted had plenty of parking outside. Its not huge with about a dozen tables.  Fairly basic environment, more cafe than restaurant. The menu was full of scrumptious Asian fare with a unique twist.  We settled on the Tapas menu and ordered several small dishes to try.  We had a squid dish (cold but the waitress had informed us of this - and it became my partners absolute fav), seafood rolls, prawn fingers, curry puffs, a seafood spaghetti dish (again cold ( we weren't warned for this one sadly) which I would have preferred hot) and a roast poussin (baby chicken) dish.  All had their own special side dishes of sauces and all were unique and tasty.  I had a lemon tea and my partner had the sweet almond drink, both were very nice.  There was no dessert available. The place was fairly basic in décor apart from some really tasty looking pictures of their food adorning the main wall and I loved that you could see the chefs cooking.  The service was excellent, food unique but well priced & tasty, and it an atmosphere that was buzzing.

This place always is packed during lunch time on the weekends with all their locals - get in early if you want a seat. Great selection of food - try the beef brisket with black pepper sauce (it's my fav now).

My favorite dish is the baked rice with chicken on white sauce

The kind of food they serve here is best described as "New Style Canton Cuisine". It has all the hallmarks of your typical Cantonese diner, but everything has been polished and modernised for Auckland food lovers. There's a fusion between Italian and Cantonese with dishes like Baked Cheese Oysters and Seafood Pasta. The tastes are delicate on the palette but satisfying for the stomach. You can choose from a wide selection of rice, baked rice and noodle dishes. The service is fast, efficient and friendly. There's always a waiter on stand-by at your service. Order an iced tea to accompany your delicious but cheap meal and you'll see why this place is packed every single night.
