It was terrible. I don't normally like to write negative things on public forums but the terrible quality of service left such a bitter taste in my mouth that I feel this is justified. Arrived at the Daikoku Botany branch last night for dinner with a group of friends looking forward to a good meal. When we asked if they had space for a table for 5, the manager in charge who was at the front counter was extremely arrogant, impolite and dismissive and refused to acknowledge us until the last member of our group who was running slightly late arrived. The restaurant was not particularly busy, either. Unfortunately based on the quality of this welcome, we did not stay long enough to try the food. Still unsure what we did to warrant such behavior. Disappointing. Went across the road to another establishment instead where the atmosphere, service and food were excellent. I won't act so low as to name the manager publicly here, but they definitely were not qualified to be in the hospitality industry.

Had a special occasion to celebrate with family, so we chose the Daikoku at Botany Town Centre. We love to be entertained by special "show" of the chef chopping up and cooking the meals right in front of us. It's even fun seeing the other table trying to catch the flying cooked egg in their mouth :)

Great winter eatery, delicious food & chance to meet new people around the hot plate

I love going to dine here and bring my daughter who loves the fact that the chef comes to cook on our table. The prawns with yum yum sauce is always a treat.

WOW!!! Daikoku is not just a meal, it's an experience! Watching them cook is like watching a show, the way they chop and toss!!! I MUST GO AGAIN!!! :D

Came here with a friend for lunch. My friend had never tried teppanyaki style food before so thought this would be a great little experience. We arrived on time and were shown to our table immediately. They had three choices, depending on your apetite- normal, Sumo and Gourmet. I chose the normal at $13.80, which comes with rice, soup, salad, veges, ice cream and the main which was beef for me. My friend chose the chicken option. The chef then started their display of cooking the food on the teppanyaki board. I found the beef cooked medium rare just as I'd asked, and the food was seasoned well. The portion size was good as well, and for $13.80 for food and entertainment, you can't go wrong.  Overall I found the service good, the staff were attentive and served food in a timely manner. Would highly recommend others.

I thought that this would be up to the high standard shown at daikoku queen street. Sadly I was mistaken. There is non of the character or atmosphere that is well know in daikoku in town, the chef's hold a blank face while cooking your food and interaction is limited. We had a 40 minute wait after sitting at the table which we booked for 8pm and then one of our orders was confused. Hygene is another issue, the bathrooms were... well to be blunt disgusting and floors were very sticky. Thought this might have been a "one off" bad day however this is the 3rd time and aside from the man who greets you at the door, the rest of the resturant is bland..
