Cafe Melba in Takapuna is a great place to come for a hearty brunch after a trip to the Sunday markets or a catch up coffee with mates.

Serving up cafe classics and a few of their own specials too (from Belgium hot chocolates to a Get Fit Quick® menu featuring protein smoothies and chia seeds), this joint has a lively, summery atmosphere no matter the season.

    My favourite thing about this cafe are the unique designs you get on your drink. The best one being the Hello Kitty design on the hot chocolates!

      Finally able to get a cool pictured coffee! Very exciting. Lovely brunch with a friend. Thanks Melba.

        OMG that's sooooooo cute!

        My wife and I went to the Cafe Melba Takapuna for brunch on a Sunday. The place was quite full so we thought we would give it a try. It was definitely a nice surprise.   Service - Great service. Very friendly and efficient. They always seem to notice when you need something and come quickly to help out despite how busy they were.   Food - The corn fritter was great and my wife thinks its one of the best in town. My chorizo omelette was ok but needs a bit of sauce and would make it great. Latte was great but hot chocolate was a bit bland although the drawing on top was nice :D   Value - $41.50 for 2 dish and 2 drinks which is acceptable. Was full so that was a plus.   Atmosphere - Nice little cafe and a good place to hide away from the rain/sun if need be.   Overall - Great little cafe and would return next time. The service definitely won me over :D

            Came here with a friend for brunch- got the berry coulis pancakes and they were great. Well cooked, tasty and beautifully presented. Nice area- on the main road, easy to find. Quite busy but still good service. Would love to come back to try a more adventurous meal and a coffee!

              Im very rarely in takapuna but always make a special trip to go here for one of their cute (and delish) coffees- you Never know what cute animal you’ll get- the staff were really accommodating when we turned up near the end of their day also which was lovely ^_^ definate 5 star!

                Cafe Melba is a great family friendly cafe. The staff here can turn a simple coffee into a work of art. Nananana Batman, is one of the many different pieces of art i have had created in a cup. This place is always clean and tidy and tables are cleaned quickly and efficiently. Staff always try to accommodate you, and they offer quick and fantastically friendly service. This is a family favourate and one place we visit often as it is somewhere that always does great food and offer fantastic service. And to be honest how many cafes can offer you a batman picture in a cup?

                  Menu is fantastic, need to go back to try everything as such choice and all good.  Food is yummy.  Sevice is always excellent, staff happy to go the extra mile and the atmosphere is comfortable and cheerful. Great hot chocolate.  Prefer to go without the kids to savour the experience but when I have taken my toddlers they are always well catered for.  Excellent place.

                    Had a yummy lunch today at Melba. They always do great food but had a fantastic special today! Grilled chicken salad with winter roast veges! It was so good! Fresh and full of flavour! The staff are so friendly! Although they have a kids menu my daughter prefers to eat sides for lunch bacon and baked beans! Highly recommend this great family friendly cafe!!
