It's been years since I've been to the Berkeley - and I was really impressed with the place. There's a nice open seating area with modern furniture and windows looking out towards the sea in the entrance ticket / concession area. The cinema we were in wasn't huge, but the seats were pretty comfortable and well spaced out. Screen and sound were both good. It felt much more relaxed than a big cinema chain in a shopping mall - and the proximity to the beach and the Mission Bay cafes make it a great choice for doing things before or after the movies.
Probably one of the best situated cinemas in Auckland. Where else is a cinema right next to a beautiful beach? This is really best of both worlds. If I every throw a sickie, my perfect day consist of lunch in Mission bay, a long walk along Tamaki drive, get some ice cream from Movenpick and sit under the sun. Finish off the day with a movie at Berkely Mission Bay. You really can't ask for more!
