Yes — this is the best book store in Auckland. Perfectly formed selection of only good books. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, they also play awesome music for the hipsters and nerds to appreciate.

I always base much of a store or service on the staff. And this store has some of the best staff in any book shop in the country. Keep it up, and thank you for all your help over the years.

You can lose hours of your day just flicking through the wonderful array of titles here. Auckland's best book shop bar none!

Time Out is awesome - fantastic range, great atmosphere (including resident cat) and open late. The staff are helpful and knowledgeable. Bonus points for online catalogue and playing indie tunes!

This bookshop is truly unique. While other larger chains like Whitcoulls and Borders are struggling to find an audience, Time Out Bookstore have their customers figured out. Many times you find regulars coming back time and again for their excellent selection of novels, coffee books, cook books and non-fiction titles. It's a great place for gift hunting or simply to lose yourself.

This place has to be my favorite place to pop into in MT Eden. It win best independent bookstore 2 years running so that’s saying something! They have a new resident cat - sadly the last one passed on. Such a nice welcoming atmosphere. The book is not dead yet people! This shop is proof. I love how the sales staff actually read so they know what to recommend and they have a great selection, particularly their kid’s book room. My mum and I actually spent time reading the picture books. So nice! They also have a lovely little function room upstairs with a kitchenette that can be hired out. I’ve been to several really nice bookish events there. Intimate but nice. They run a book club up there, or so I hear. I recommend if you come here regularly that you pick up a loyalty card - after 10 purchases you get 10% of your total off your next purchase. Not bad! Forget the chain stores, support local !
