The Falls is set in a lovely parklike setting, so once you've had your fill, a lazy walk along the river bank is quite lovely on a summer's day. The building itself is Victorian splendour at it's best, with many original features still in place, with wooden floors and panelling. Assuming you haven't just come for a sneaky peek, we've been on a number of occasions, usually for lunch or dinner, but sometimes we've just popped in the afternoon for coffee and cake. The food is always well presented, good sized portions and delicious. The service, we've always found to be friendly, and if there's a wait to be had, we've been advised of it. Desserts are a particular favourite with the children, while I've always enjoyed the fish with a particular penchant for the seafood chowder. Definitely recommend, especially after a couple hours shopping in the old Henderson Square.

Nice hot chocolates too!

When I made the booking I didn't realise I was booking for mother's day so as pleasantly surprised to find a mosly full Auckland restaurant that Sunday night. The staff didn't seem frazzled though so it was a bit of a mystery why our starter or bread and dips took almost an hour to come out- it's ot even a tricky starter. However that was probably our only major complaint about  pretty nice neghbouhood restaurant.

We ate extremely well but felt that the environment really pulled the overall rating down - it was cold, there was no music and the service is just too brisk!

We booked a table for two to celebrate some good news.  We turned up at the quaint old house and entered the front door.  The kauri panelled walls made it clear we were in something historic.  The environment was wonderful, and reminded me of my childhood when entering an ancient Aunts house.  We were shown to a nice table by the window looking out over the road.  The place consists of several rooms giving the feel of eating in someone's house and had nicely set & spaced tables.  The staff are well dressed and try to be very professional.  It works.  We received an amuse bouche ( complementary chef taster ) to start which was a nice touch.  We ordered a herbed garlic roll and the pate to share as our entree. ($15 the pate & $4 a roll)  It was fantastic.  My roll actually dripped butter - yum (forget the diet).  The pate looked superb and tasted superb. Combined with the pickle jelly was oh so good. Plenty for 2 to share.  Still craving it a day later!   For mains my partner ordered the pork belly which was a lovely large and very tender piece of pork.  I ordered  the sirloin steak with green peppercorn sauce.  We added side of chips since we were quite hungry.  The meals arrived timed perfectly between courses.  They were very tasty, extremely well presented and overall excellent meals. We topped off the meal with a shared dessert of pavlova with passionfuit and an L&P sorbet.  A perfect ending to a fabulous meal. Lovely setting, excellent service and fine meals.  Prices were appropriate for the quality of meal so no complaints there.  $132 for 2 with a glass of really nice shiraz is good value in my experience. Fine dining without having to drive into the city.  A wonderful experience out in the west.

The Falls was a restaurant I hadn't even thought of going to but when I was given a voucher I decided I better give it a go...I'm glad I did! The Falls is upmarket city dining in the West! With many different rooms you are guaranteed an intimate atmosphere and the food was just divine. We were even given a sushi entree 'compliments of the chef' which really sealed the deal.

Allan and his Team really look after you, they have great meals at a great affordable price. The setting were The Falls are located is great for even a wedding venue with some great pictures gardens out the back. Come and experience the warm welcoming atmosphere for your self. I and the rest of the BNI networking Team eat here breakfast every Tuesday morning.

Our special occasions are generally spent here.  The Falls has a lovely ambience and fabulous food.  The dessert platter is a must for sweet aficionados as it has a little bit of everything.

I had always wanted to try this place so on our anniversary my partner organised a booking for dinner. It lived up to my expectations with superb food and great friendly but not overbearing service. The cosy fires made it an ideal romantic setting.  We had the pate & spring rolls to start. followed by the Chicken kiev and fillet steak.  The kiev was superb. Must be good - it was  voted West Auckland’s number one restaurant in 2008, 2009 and 2010

We were out west so popped in here for a work lunch, the service was fantastic and with knowledgeable staff, never had to wait for drinks service . Environment was fabulous and spotless. The menu was very small but what they did offer they did very well, my  kidneys were cooked to perfection. Passed on dessert as had over indulged on the first course. Worth a visit if your out west.

Sometimes we do make the journey out to Henderson on a Saturday morning to have brunch at the falls. Believe me the trip is worth it. You will definitely want to sit outside as the surrounds are beautiful and it is bound to get you relaxed and into weekend mode.  The food is always amazing - nothing overly complicated but it is always done well. They are really good when you request something on the dish to be modified also. The staff have never been anything other than friendly, professional and efficient.  A great way to start the weekend.
