For some reason when we're shopping at Sylvia Park, we always end up at this sushi place - probably because it offers the best sushi around - even though there are plenty of other food places in the food court, we always end up here ! Love the flavour choices and variety - nice range in prices too so it will suit any pocket even if you're a cheapie like me !! There's always my favourite there : salmon and avocado YUM ! Love their miso soup too ! so do the kids ! If you're only wanting a snack the triangle sushi "buns" are really good especially the teriyaki salmon - SO good !
This sushi was always so fresh and full of flavour. If you ever happened to be around just as the mall was opening you would see them cooking and cutting all the ingredients getting everything ready for the day, it always smelt so good too. The location makes it easy to get to and there are a few tables if you want to eat there.
Every food court at your local shopping center usually has the predictable few choices of chain food outlets. And if you are in the mood for something fresh, lighter and healthier choice, sushi (or Japanese) cusine will usually satisfy that fix. The quality is consistant at Smart Sushi, that is to say, your standard quality sushi rolls and various cooked Japanese menu items such as tempura, bento boxes and noodle bowls. They are quite generous with their fish and other ingredients with their rolls, so you don't feel you're just being filled up with rice. Presentation is excellent and everything usually looks fresh. You will have to wait for 10-15 minutes if ordering from their hot menu items, and again, quality is consistant and usually good. Their staff are friendly and when asked for extra soy sauce, they usually throw in a few more without charging you extra (unlike some other stores I've been to). The sushi here won't blow your mind away, but for what you are paying and where you're getting them from (a foodcourt), it's definately a better choice than the other usual foodcourt offerings. If you wait or swing by closing time (generally around 4:30pm or so on a regular night, or later for a late Thursday/Friday night), they will discount all the items by 30% - and that's actually really good value for money if you want sushi for dinner.
