Great Thai place

Love the money bags, curry puffs and the thai prawn toast. Super yummy with great mains. The service here is always really good. Mid to high price range for a Thai place.

When I feel like Thai, and eating out, Sawadee is my first pick. Great environment, spaces for large groups - and, of course, the food is fantastic. Generous portions too, I generally find a starter and one main is enough for dinner between two.

We often go to Sawadee when we have guests in Auckland. This is one of my favourite Thai places. The wait staff are so friendly and they will make you feel so welcomed. All the dishes taste delicious and we have now become a regular customer.

Best Thai Food I've had. The ambience of Sawadee Thai Restaurant is truly beautiful. We ordered a number of items from the menu and its all tasted very delicious. I'll definitely be returning back to try out the other items on the menu. The staff too are very friendly and efficient.

Sawadee has been on the list of places to go for years. You can easily forget you are in Ponsonby with the brilliant thai decor and traditional dress of the staff. The food is exquisite!

Yaaaaaamie!!

Try the gai Leung, so creamy and delicious. This place is awesome for a group byo - must try

Had a really good meal here. Generous portions and fantastic flavours this place is money well spent. The staff are lovely and even though it is a big place, there are quiet corner areas which have a nice relaxed atmosphere. Enjoyed it thoroughly.

Luckily I ordered the one dish that is apparently any good, the Evil Monkey Prince (I think it was called). Everyone else was fairly disappointed with their meals, saying that it was just a bit bland. I expect a bit of spice in my Thai, and my dish certainly wasn't lacking in that department, but after sampling some of the other dishes, I could understand their problem. The atmosphere was really good, and beer selection was pretty good, but overall it was probably only a 5/10, and I don't think I'll go back.
