Royal Thai Restaurant Birkenhead

Haven't been here for about 2 yrs. Went last night with two friends and the food is just as good as I remembered it to be. We had 3 entrees, Curry Puffs, Mini Spring Rolls & a mix plate for one and they were all very tasty with a nice dipping sauce. The 3 main were just as tasty, 1 red curry, 1 yellow curry and chicken stir fry. The portion sizes were decent and two of use took home a doggy bag. This is local to a good friend's place, and parking is always good early evening on the weekends. Royal Thai offers the usual offerings, and these are always beautifully presented and tasty. My favourite is the satay noodles, and so I can't comment on the other dishes faithfully although the starters are always enjoyable. Staff are well presented, attentive and friendly. Decor is fairly typical for a Thai restaurant, with a small fountain and Thai paintings and sculptures featured aournd the restaurant. Ambience is fine, and the soft light good for wrinkles and suited well to a little romantic dinner for two. PS. Loos are downstairs, which might be challenging for some folk. The stairs aren't steep but they're there.
