New Flavour Restaurant is northern Chinese food big on portions and yes, on flavour. Food is fresh and at pocket change prices with minimal service and a very casual atmosphere. It’s also open extremely late – if you’re hungry at 1 AM and looking for a snack, come here.
Chinese tea is refilled continuously for free. A spicy chilli oil as well as soy sauce and black vinegar are plentiful for dumpling dipping according to your taste.
New Flavour is best in a group of four or more, with plates like the garlicky eggplant or deep-fried pork belly shared between you on the Lazy Susan.

Best with a few people to share different things with! And you can have a table with a huge lazy susan if you have a big group! My favourite item is the vegetarian dumplings, which I like fried and dipped in plenty of vinegar, soy sauce and chilli. I also love the aubergine and kumara, which is a little mooshy, but comes covered in some kind of delicious sauce and the bok choy, which comes steamed and sprinkled with cooked chunks of garlic! Yums.
