Mokoia also offer Christmas Lunch, and if the buffet at Skyline is not your thing, this is the more premium and refined option for the festive day. Checkout their Kiwi style Xmas lunch set menu, it is to die for!

Mokoia is one of my favourite lunch spots. Perched upon Mt Ngongotaha, the view is killer, which is why I love going during the day. Lately I’ve been loving a nice, warm winter soup. It changes daily, so just ask the chef what the special is. Also the seafood chowder (or as they call it "Kaimoana Chowder") is to die for.

Mokoia is fine dining at its best. They have won multiple industry awards in addition to awards and top rating on the much-respected traveller’s bible Trip Advisor. Mokia is renowned for using the freshest seasonal NZ produce and indigenous herbs ans spices to encapsulate an authentic NZ taste.

Like many things in tourist-centric Rotorua, this place is at the higher-end of the price scale but this is fine dining for sure. On my visit my friend and I had the medallions of beef, pork with noodles, and smoked duck. They all tasted amazing, with the pork being be my favourite. We finished it off with their super decadent and rich chocolate gateau and were so full we could've burst!
