A clever recreation of Southeast Asian fusion; a destination on Ponsonby Road.

Recreating the mood and experience of this magnificent time and place, Mekong Baby is designed with unique roughened floors, crudely painted walls with the interior simple, yet elegant. Nostalgic prints of life in Vietnam cover the walls, highlighted with the glow from the mood lighting, centred around the marble bar.

This place is always full

    Love this place! The lamb and the pork both just melt in your mouth. Always a busy atmosphere, best to book ahead of time if you can but they also reserve a few tall tables around the bar area and some outside for walk ins. So even without a booking you usually don't have to wait long for a table. Plus their cocktails are divine, which makes the wait all that much sweeter.

      The food at Mekong is simply Delish! I much appreciate the GF options too! The cocktails are Devine as is the Wine. Then there's the atmosphere, lively, comfortable, welcoming. Great location should you wish to stop by a bar or hit the dance floor afterwards too.

            The atmosphere and the delicious food

              As someone with severe lactose intolerance, it was AMAZING to be able to order anything I wanted from the menu without fear of becoming ill. The food was incredible and there was so much to choose from. Brilliant for foodies!

                Everything 💖 the pork belly and cocktails are amazing!

                  I’d been meaning to come here for months and so glad I did! There’s such a great vibe and the food is so delicious. Particularly loved the caramelised and crunchy pork belly and zingy wok-fried squid. The cocktail list is very unusual too - had one with chilli tequila and chocolate liqueur, a great flavour combo. Definitely go with a group to try a little bit of everything. And if everything on the menu looks too amazing to decide, just say "let’s eat!" and they bring out a selection of tasty dishes for you for a set price per person.

                    After replacing my favourite GPK I thought I should try it out and see if this spot on Ponsonby Road would still be a regular for me. This place is great!! Fantastic Malaysian food with all sorts of exotic ingredients. Best to go in a large group so that you can order heaps and share, also dishes come out at random times.
