The food

On a sunny day you can't beat a lazy brunch at Meadow. Or a cold drink in the evening

I'm pretty stoked to have discovered this little spot and consider it a new favourite local. I've done the group dinner with friends, I've had the afternoon tea with the parentals and now I can happily add the Sunday morning brunch with a boy to that list. And on that sunny Sunday Meadow was just as on point with brunch as they were with the other delightful meals. Staff were friendly and still very pretty, coffee was choice, and the food was pretty amazing. I ordered the smashed avocado and it was so good. I'm an avid avocado lover so you can easily disappoint me if you do them wrong, but Meadow did them oh-so-right! My friend decided to go for the soup and a beer which seemed a slightly random combo, especially considering the hangover he was sporting, but he loved it nonetheless. Good times all round.

With a range of seating options meadow allows guests to capitalize from any weather in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. never overcrowded but always busy meadow has a lively feel but still allows for conversation.

Meadow is literally the hidden gem to be seen at. Perched on the side of the road behind a big gnarly fence, it's so hidden that if it wasn't for the giant M E A D O W letters on the roof, you'd walk right past. And I did at first, several times. Once inside it's like you've stepped into a little oasis of metropolitan goodness. With big friendly trees and giant sized pot plants scattered across the courtyard, giving an illusion of privacy by subtly sectioning off the little areas spotted with white patio furniture. When dining here with friends the atmosphere was relaxed, thanks to the kind staff and overall ambience, which made for an entertaining night out. The food was delicious, with the pizzas coming out on top. I returned later in the month, taking my parents there for coffee one lazy Sunday. That visit confirmed Meadow as the hot little alfresco dining spot to be, with locals continualy popping in and out with family and friends, for lagers and light lunches.

I'm a bit of a Westie so don't often make the trek Eastside but I was pleasantly surprised when, a couple of weeks ago, I stumbled across this gorgeous little local haven in Meadowbank after visiting a good friend. It was mid-morning so I opted for the baked eggs, butter beans and tomato ragu and a powerhouse green smoothie that came with kale atop. I loved the fact that it was called a Clevedon Greens smoothie! And because they serve Allpress coffee this new kid on the block is definitely worth a visit.
