Came here in the summer for an afternoon high tea and it was all lovely. Heaps of outside tables with umbrellas to enjoy the sun. Parking can be a problem however esp on a sunny day and you have to book before hand. High tea was good. Wide selections of teas and cakes, scones and sammies were lovely.
In the heart of Cornwall Park, amongst the sheep, cows and chickens, Cornwall Park restaurant is the perfect place to have high teas, Devonshire teas or lunch. The service there is exceptional and the atmosphere is very relaxing. They do functions and have a mini ice-cream kiosk around the corner as well.
After spending many afternoons at various high tea places throughout the city, I still come back to Cornwall park restaurant for what I consider the best value for money high tea. Their combination of savoury and sweet morsels (mini lemon meringues, date cakes, scones with jam and cream, little pies- to name a few) is just perfect to eat while enjoying the scenery of Cornwall Park and I rate their coffee and tea selection well. You often dont need to book that far in advance either (can book same day or just turn up unlike some of the other high teas places) and the price is very good for what you get.
