This has to be the worst yum cha I have ever had! It was good about 2 years ago which was the last time I came here however it has changed ownership sinc e and very very concerning especially after both of us were terribly sick after eating. The food it very limited and not much choice, cold and something that no one wanted last week so they bring it back round! The service was shocking after given no service at all and finally asking not once but 6 times for a certain yum cha dish which I then got told an hour later that the chef is too busy (there were only 8 people in the restaurant and all had finished). Staff all grumpy and looked unhappy while the owners demanded food for themselves and ordered them around. Don’t come here unless you want little or no service, old bits and pieces they are trying to make you pay a ridiculous price for and want to get really sick you can’t leave the toilet!
For yum cha aficionados this is where it's at in Auckland to get an authentic Chinese lunch experience at a very affordable price. For me, it's all about the spring beans and prawn spring rolls. You see, I figure that it's okay to eat my body weight in prawns perfectly wrapped in pillowy pastry parcels because I'm off-setting my fried feast by still getting my greens. Their dumplings are also good and if you are brave, try the chicken feet because they are a whole new taste sensation. I'm salviating already!
We have been here several times and find it a great experience with the kids and Ive never seen kids eat so many green beans! Theirs are the best. We know now what to order and for under $100 we all have to waddle out with loosened belts. Our family favourites are : their signature prawn spring rolls, sweet & sour pork ( best in Auckland) , green beans, pork & prawn steamed dumplings, battered squid, dim sums, crispy duck ( not as good as expected but tasty), and sometimes pork buns. Yum… now I’m craving it again.
