Means Hunter in Spanish. Great menu, I like the fact that it is seasonal and always fresh and delicious!

I've recently developed a love of game meat because it's so full of nutritious goodies and one of my current favourite restaurants Cazador does an amazing game soup of the day. It's so tasty that even if it doesn't sound like the kind of dish you'd normally dig, I urge everyone to try it at least once. The soup - either duck, vension or wild pork, is rich and full of those deep flavours that are true of any game meat. And it's filled with seasonal veges too. A bowl of this, followed by their lamb shanks and I'm in hunter-gatherer heaven!

delicious game meat :)

Absolutely stunning meals cooked with real love for the food, and a great experience for the diner. Awesome atmosphere, good beverage selection, and the best selection of flesh in Auckland!

Game done by those who are passionate about their meat

This place has been here twenty years but has recently been passed onto the previous owner’s son. He has taken his dad’s love of wild game and creates totally amazing honest dishes with it. Not a place fir vegetarians - think hare and wild venison amongst some of the offerings on the menu. Take friends, drink red.

Incredible food and friendly, passionate staff.

A cool place if you're into hunting or just love game meat in general. Also the mussel entree was excellent...

Really good game food and not expensive. Gorgeous food but book in advance as they get booked in  advance!!

This is Auckland's most authentic game restaurant.  It really is one of its kind.  The owner is a dedicated hunter and the walls are decorated with trophies of his  adventures.  Not for light hearted.   Its really quite a man's restaurant however every time I've been here its actually been with a group of women.  The menu is unusual with a strong middle eastern influence.  Its quite a large menu so very hard to choose.  The owners wife is always happy to explain the dishes and recommend her choice. The last time I went I chose  the must have Nan E-Bakhshi  (a crisp, Persian flat bread rolled with herb parmesan pesto and baked, with a sprinkling of cheese.)  Unusual but oh so good.  For a main I went with the safe option a steak.  Peppered with a mushroom sauce.  Very nice .   This is a specialist restaurant that must be enjoyed.  You shoot it , we cook it should be their slogan since they also will prepare & cook meat you take in.   To top off my night I had the licorice ice cream.  I was expecting to not like this and had no idea what it would taste like.  Well it was great and I'm sold!! They even will prepare your own meat.
