Don’t tell anyone but this place is awesome! Feels like I’m always underdressed haha

this cinema is a piece of Auckland's picture theatre history, so thank you to the people behind the Lido in Epsom for reopening it.

This cinema is well worth a visit if you haven't already been!

A groovy wee threate situated in the heart of quirky dominion rd.  shows a good range of movies - easy parking nearby - plenty of fab restaurants to grab a bit before or after your movie.  Right back to the threate - cool building with lots of character,  cozy lounge area for wine pre movie then you can take your glass into the movie - large wine pours and good wine list.  Big comfy seats!  Fav movie spot in akl.

love this place to comfy!

This place is super cute. The chairs are massive and the cinemas are cosy. You can even get a cup of tea to take into the movie. They are good for watching the less main stream films.

The seats are large, comfy and luxurious. There is a little side table to place your wine/ coffee/ beer. All you need is a blankie…

Went to see a preview of "Descendants" there on Monday night...last time I went there it was for rock climbing!!  Love these "art" type theatres, they turn the movies into a great night out rather than the Multiplex factory experience.  Go see & support your local theatre, you won't be sorry, where the staff a friendly & the movie selection great.

The main reason I love Capital Cinema so much is that when I rang them to ask if they were playing the movie I wanted to see on 35mm or digital the guy who answered said "We only play movies on 35mm so come see it here!" Quite right! Some of the other independent cinemas just screen movies off mpg files, but not Capital! Their tickets are well priced (and so is their icecream!), the staff are friendly and the cinema itself is a beautifully refurbished, historic theatre with very comfy chairs. Also, the 35mm print was immaculate. if anyone deserves a 5 star rating it is Capital Cinema.

Restored to its old world charm this is a great little cinema. Decent prices, seat sizes and an awesome range of snacks and drinks. Get a loyalty card and when you’ve been 10 times you get a free ticket.
