"Attending dawn ceremony on Anzac day. 'Lest We Forget'. We took the kids on the Sunday after to the Auckland Museum too. Just love looking at all the exhibits. Never seems to bore."
"This one of my favourite museums. It is a grand building in the Auckland Domain and has magnificent views of Auckland. The exhibits are great and there is always something new to discover. It is a place I never get bored of visiting. And best of all it’s free for Auckland residents!"

"Love everything French? Yes! Well I like your style. There is nothing more enjoyable on a Saturday or Sunday morning than to purchase freshly baked aromatic bread, a serving of Paella (which doesn’t always make it all the way home!), a selection a delicious French cheeses from the La Cigale Fromagerie and a number of other fabulous products and produce which make their way into your market bag. Treat yourself to this French Market place!"
"What a perfect way to begin a spring day by visiting La Cigale. Nestled at the base of Parnell the market is a lovely upmarket market with great coffee and gourmet food. You can also buy a great selection of fresh produce here too. Come hungry and with the cupboards bare - you won’t be disappointed!"

"I hear it's amazing. My friends visited last weekend, and they had so much fun... I'm definitely gona try it."
"Great chance to get your kids on the snow and try it out. For kids who can already ski it is a fun time. Dress up really warm as it is very very cold. They have morning and afternoon sessions in the school holidays. They take all school age kids and then 5-16 years to learn and progress in the separated into groups depending on their age, skill level and choice of skiing (from 5 years old) or snowboarding (from 8 years old) and then offer them tuition."

"School holiday treat. Kicking myself I have never taken the kids before. Great fun for the whole day. Loads of places if you want to picnic. Staff really lovely. Be best not to go in the school holidays if you don't want to queue but nobody was complaining. Better for kids over 130 cm high so they can go on all of the rides."

"I went to see the Hunt (a Danish film about a man who is wrongfully accused of being a pedophile) in the weekend at the Capitol cinema on Dominion Road. The cinema is beautiful but the movie was dark and haunting. The movie left me feeling a little icky so I headed along to the Event Cinemas in St Lukes for a slightly lighter experience. This time we opted for Baz Luhrmann's 'The Great Gatsby' which was a style over substance, fun adaptation of the book. The cinema was hooching due to it being deal night ($11 for a ticket, $15 if it's in 3D) and the smell of buttery popcorn was in the air. The staff were all professional and the seats, which i guess are a big part of the movie, comfy. If you're not looking for a gourmet, art house experience and are happy to enjoy a big Hollywood blockbuster and slurp on a frozen Coke this is the place for you."
"Nothing beats a good old horror film on the big screen, in a big dark room with your friend sitting next to you screaming at every little sudden movement. When you are looking for a bit of an addrenline rush and you think you can handle of few nights of scary dreams, I’d grab a group of friends and head to the cinemas. Oooooh and on the way home a drive around some abandoned houses is always good."
Cnr Federal & Victoria Streets, Auckland Central, Auckland 1010
"and the sky tower is tied for my first-favourite place to view it from -- sharing the #1 spot with Mt. Eden, of course. The elevator ride up is fun (well, not if you're afraid of heights...), the plexiglass floor sections are trippy, and the view is just gorgeous. I've been multiple times, and recommend going around twilight so you can see the city in the sunlight, and as the lights go on :] "
"It's a Winter Wonderland at the Sky Tower these school holidays! Go along with the kids - there's a treasure hunt, arts & crafts station and the kids can design their own mitten or 3D snowflake. Free hot chocolate and cookies for the kids to keep them going, too."

"A nice shopping centre and also a great cinemas- for some movie glamour. Only bean bag place left on Hoyts in Auckland, I think! Must go again since Wairau has stopped doing them! Have only been here once but was a great movie and good service as always. Worth the stop by!"
"The screens are big and the seats are comfy. Can't go wrong... Plus love going a little early and playing a few games... and maybe a bite to eat..."
Shop M003, Westfield Albany, 219 Don McKinnon Drive, Albany, Auckland 0632
"This is such a lovely cinema. It is huge, there are loads of cinema screens and each screen is massive! Having lots of screens means there are loads of options of what movies you can see at any one time, as well as lots of options of screening times for any given film. The big screens really make the movie-going-experience. If you book online, you can pre-order any treats and snacks to just pick up the lot together with your tickets. It is also part of the Westfield Mall complex, so you can buy anything from the supermarket, the food court or any of the bars and restaurants that line the mall. I just went and saw the new Star Trek film there and it was AWESOME!"
"The Gold Class at Event Cinemas by Albany Mall is the best of the bunch in my humble opinion, with plentiful - free - parking and a great line up always on. If you’re going to go blockbuster you have to go Gold Class!"
"This establishment is very classy and I love coming here because it is so much better than any other cinema. On my visit, we received complimentary glasses of wine with our movie which is ALWAYS a plus. Watching movies has and will always be a big part of my lazy sunday regime so why not come here and watch one on the big screen. All of the cinemas are very big with extremely comfy chairs that are very relaxing unlike other awkward/unclean seats at other cinemas. You can also choose to go Gold Class where the seats are even bigger and there is a menu you can order from. Fancy as."
