This place has made lots of my "best of" lists on here, and I always seem to be recommending it, but is is such a great place. The best thing about Brew is that it was started by a local craft beer brewery called Crouchers, so when you drink here you’re sampling goods that were produced just down the road. I suggest ordering the tasting paddle to start and then go from there!
Since 2013, Paul Croucher and Nigel Gregory have been running this craft beer pub on The Strand in central Tauranga. They already had a successful Brew Bar in Rotorua and decided to meet the market in the Western Bay. They sell a wide range - including low alcohol craft beer - and are renowned for offering great live music on a weekend summer evening. decided it was time Tauranga had its own pub focused on the best craft beers New Zealand has to offer. BREW has the full range of Croucher Brewing beers on tap, including the latest seasonal releases, along with an ever-changing selection of other great NZ craft beers (on tap and in bottles), wines and ciders. Plus we have a wonderful Gastropub style menu chock full of our take on hearty classics.
I was astounded by the wealth of knowledge GM David Stanaway has about beer and food. I took his recommendation and he matched a delicious selection of beers with great food from their kitchen. The interior is warm and inviting and makes you feel right at home. Definitely one of my favourite places for a drink and a meal in Tauranga.
"An ever changing range of quality beers on tap or bottled. A few ciders too. Hosted by the Croucher folk from Rotorua, doing their best to spread the craft gospel. Laid back, family friendly, good food & regular live music too. A great adult pitstop after hitting the waterfront playground with the younger crowd.
