Hidden is probably not the best word for this amazing place which is on Dominion Rd but perhaps unknown is better. This authentic kebab restaurant is so good! The lentil and brown rice mix as a replacement for the normal white rice served is amazing. The Toumeh is soooo garlicky its practically spicy and so hot in the mouth but so delicious! Definitely worth the drive down Dominion Rd. Best to go early evening though as food does run out.
This is true and authentic middle eastern kebabs / cuisine just like what i had on my travels over there. They use good quality meats, well cooked rice and veges and the freshest salads, for excellent value. This is not your regular takeaway kebab shop. Since I've eaten there, I haven't able to eat middle eastern food anywhere else as its just not the same. Thank you for providing the excellent quality food and the really friendly service.
On a dreary patch or turf, halfway down Dominion Rd is where you’ll chance upon the best shawarmas in Auckland. Shefco Lebanese Cuisine has been quietly dishing out excellent shawarmas, rice dishes, pastries, hummus, salads, sweets and a large array of Middle eastern foodstuffs for more than a decade now. Last year it expanded to make room for a few basic tables, so you can eat in if you like, but for me it’s the perfect takeaway. They’ve got a little deli counter where you’ll find imported sheep, goat and cow’s milk cheese, haloumi and a selection of olives. Their bakalava is superb and I’ll often pick up a tray as a last-minute offering when visiting friends. Last year at Eid, they sold over 700 kilos of the stuff. And their freshly baked pita, in three sizes ($1-2 a pack), is the best value, and the best, in town.
