A little about us
Shefco Baklawa Cafe is a deli and kebab shop serving Middle-Eastern specialties. They make their own pita, which you can get filled with a variety of meats and vegetables, or take home with you to create your own.
Try the manakeesh, a "breakfast pizza" with juicy minced lamb, herbs and spices, or one of their delectable salads and savoury pastries.

Hidden is probably not the best word for this amazing place which is on Dominion Rd but perhaps unknown is better. This authentic kebab restaurant is so good! The lentil and brown rice mix as a replacement for the normal white rice served is amazing. The Toumeh is soooo garlicky its practically spicy and so hot in the mouth but so delicious! Definitely worth the drive down Dominion Rd. Best to go early evening though as food does run out.
First time back since renovated awhile back. And what a surprise still the best kebab in Auckland that we have eaten and we have tried a few. The service is still the same though a bit slow and coffee not the ok but the food is worth the wait.
This is true and authentic middle eastern kebabs / cuisine just like what i had on my travels over there. They use good quality meats, well cooked rice and veges and the freshest salads, for excellent value. This is not your regular takeaway kebab shop. Since I've eaten there, I haven't able to eat middle eastern food anywhere else as its just not the same. Thank you for providing the excellent quality food and the really friendly service.
Shefco is my one-stop shop for all things Middle Eastern. The front of the shop acts as a kebab shop, with pita wraps that are just that bit more delish than your average. There are also luscious stew-type dishes that are served with rice, of which there are two choices - one laced with cashews, yum! My only quibble about the rice dishes is that they don't come with salad - for that you have to order it separately and pay extra. Down the back are cans of dolmada and other delicacies, as well as a large selction of baklava and other sweet treats. Recently they added a cheese counter, with a great selection of fetas, and very reasonably priced haloumi. A regular stop off on Dominion Road for me, for a delicious dinner or to stock up on yummy Middle Eastern fare.
On a dreary patch or turf, halfway down Dominion Rd is where you’ll chance upon the best shawarmas in Auckland. Shefco Lebanese Cuisine has been quietly dishing out excellent shawarmas, rice dishes, pastries, hummus, salads, sweets and a large array of Middle eastern foodstuffs for more than a decade now. Last year it expanded to make room for a few basic tables, so you can eat in if you like, but for me it’s the perfect takeaway. They’ve got a little deli counter where you’ll find imported sheep, goat and cow’s milk cheese, haloumi and a selection of olives. Their bakalava is superb and I’ll often pick up a tray as a last-minute offering when visiting friends. Last year at Eid, they sold over 700 kilos of the stuff. And their freshly baked pita, in three sizes ($1-2 a pack), is the best value, and the best, in town.
