The two owners are absolutely gorgeous and will look after you well. Check out their movie nights if you are wanting to find something to do on a night out in the country."

" FANTASTIC cafe! So so so impressed, and so great to finally have the cafe in the hands of people who know what they are doing! My experience could not have been more perfect and the food is simply divine, with a menu that has something for everyone. Coffee was perfection, as was service – staff were so lovely and super attentive. The gardens are such a gorgeous surrounding. Thoroughly recommend to anybody in the area, and out of the area too because it is SO worth the drive. I will be back!"

" As we pulled up to the Two Fat Cows after a 30 minute cruise down the motorway, I began to feel like I really was in the country. There were plenty of parks surrounding the cool corrugated iron building which looks more like a woolshed or barn than a restaurant. As we walked in we thought twice about coming to a rural restaurant/bar (with kids) on a Saturday night. It was bustling and overflowing onto the tables outside but as soon as we walked in I felt like I was down at the local from my farming childhood. What a wonderful vibrant feeling of community. The place upon first impression was predominantly a large bar and with tvs showing all the latest in sports games (and I spotted a a large projector too).. but as we sauntered through we saw a nice dining area (complete with screen showing 80's hits). The menu had a good range of snacks, lunch/brunch all day eating and dinner options. Plenty to make the drive worth while. We ordered nachos for the kids (who raved about them) and a satay chicken starter to share. Well, talk about juicy succulent divine chicken with a very tasty satay sauce. 10/10. We followed with the lamb shanks and calamari as our mains. Exceptionally tender shanks on a bed of kumara mash with peas in a divine gravy... so simple yet so perfect and tasty. This place is living up to its claim of great country fare. The calamari was also divine. Cooked to perfection in a crispy light batter with a spicy sweet chilli sauce. Another 10/10 for the meals. Service was very good too. Considering there was only 2 guys behind the bar who also served the diners they did a fantastic job. Kudos guys!! We ended with an ice cream sundae for the kids and the dessert blackboard special for us to share... Chocolate Baileys mouse (sic)... yes we all had a giggle when we ordered the chocolate "mouse" but it was one of the most divine tasting desserts I've had in ages.. creamy yet just the right flavour of Baileys. The place was not overly busy in the dining area but where-ever we looked it had content locals enjoying each others company and good stories. What a great atmosphere. "
" This place must be the local watering hole as it was packed on a Saturday night. On our way to Hamilton, my fiancé and I decided to stop for a bite to eat for dinner. Although it was hard to find a park (the local football club bus took up a lot of space), we managed to squeeze in. The bar has a cosy and warm atmosphere to it enhanced by it's dark wood panelling and gas fireplace. When we arrived, it was bustling with energy as the local football club were celebrating their recent win so it was good to see such a happy and friendly bunch of people having a good time enjoying a few beers - nothing too rowdy of course."

"Bracu Pavilion is an amazing - not to mention glamorous wedding venue. I was bridesmaid for my bestie who got married their last year and it was amazing. They have their own dedicated wedding planner who helps you with your big day and ensures it is a success. Keep it up Bracu! "
" My partner took me here for Valentine's Day. The food was amazing, and so was the experience. It's quite far out from the CBD, but I think that adds to it's charm!"

" A sunny, cool, crisp mid-week Autumn's day. After a nice drive out down to Pukekohe getting some work done and sorted in the morning, realised it's already pushing close to 1pm. With my stomach making that "feed me now" growl, headed into Monarch Cafe right in the center of town. The decour is modern and warm, with varnished wooden floors and tables, nice open dining area indoors and several tables outside on the sidewalk. We were promptly greeted by a waitress and lead to our table with their updated Autumn menu. Service was a bit slow today as there were only 2 servers working the floor with half the restaurant full for lunch. 10 minutes after orders were place our drinks arrived: Iced coffee for me and a lemon lime and bitters across the table from me. They drizzled maple flavoured syrup down the side of the coffee, which I haven't see before and certainly makes it stand out. The starter of garlic loaf with balsamic and olive oil follows, nice flavour and the bread warm and moist. I've never dipped garlic bread in vinegar and oil before and surprisingly pairs well. The main course took another 15 minutes, creamy chicken and mushroom pasta on my side and beer-battered snapper with fries and salad opposite me. Presentation is excellent, a combination of fettuccine and spaghetti were used which gives the dish some textural contrast. The sauce isn't too rich, with a hint of truffle flavour (from the truffle oil) coming through the pieces of mushrooms and chicken, grated parmesan rounding out the dish and providing the earthy savoury finish. The fish & chips looks very appetizing as well, golden brown beer batter crust on the pieces of snapper and taste very fresh, cooked just right, flakey and moist after you bite into that crispy batter. We contemplated dessert for a while, with many tables around us ordering the house cheesecake which looked absolutely decadent. However by the time the dishes before us were finished we're just way too full, perhaps another day. Very nice find in this remote part of Greater Auckland area with quality that rivals many similar establishment in downtown Auckland."
