"You never know what treasure you might stumble accross when rummaging through the salvage yard at Burrell Demolition. It’s a treasure trove of lovely old doors, sinks and fireplaces. If you’re mid renovating or looking to add character to your abode this is one place to start!"

"As a 24 year old male buying homeware isn’t on the top of my priority list. I'm pretty happy to use my parents tired outcasts but that's not to say that I can't appreciate a well crafted whisk or a Bodum coffee machine. When the turning point comes and homeware becomes a priority in my life Smith and Caughey's will be one the stores I will shop. The upmarket department store has pretty much a whole floor dedicated to kitchenware, appliances and linen. They stock quality brands and it can get a bit pricey. At the end of the day though you get what you pay for what you get so sometimes it's better to spend a little more."

"The problem with working at home is that it is super easy to get distracted. I'm the first to admit this. I was plugging away at something or other when my buddy rolled up and told me we were heading to Art + Object. I'd never been there before and when we arrived I was astounded at what was inside the auction house. Taxidermy was hung above ancient samurai armor. Great New Zealand artists work was leaned against stacks of old dusty reference books. Apparently the prices are reasonable and depending on what auction is happening at Art + Object you never know what gems you might find. Even if you're just going in for a look, it's still a lot of fun."
