"Step out from Level 2 onto the terrace and follow Jeppe Hein's Long Modified Bench Auckland as it weaves up, down and around. Trace its roller-coaster course as it dips down inside the Gallery's building only to pop back up again into the daylight. Return at dusk to see the bench light up. Stand back, sit down, stretch out or loop the loop. Hein's sculpture is one of three temporary commissioned works which celebrate the opening of the developed Gallery. Sculpture terrace Until 2014 Jeppe Hein, Long Modified Bench Auckland, 2011 powder-coated aluminium, LED Commissioned by Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki, 2011 Generously supported by the Edmiston Trust Courtesy of the artist and Johann König, Berlin and 303 Gallery, New York Find out more on our website"
"Such a variety of work all displayed in a constantly surprising building. The gallery itself is almost as much of an attraction as the art inside. Love the whole feeling of space and texture. Great if you have some time to kill or bring the family and make a day of it."

"With a name like "The Fridge Cafe" I just had to check this place out! It's choice as mate :D Pie changes you. :D"
"I have only ever eaten pies from this place. The best. Everyone who has been here will tell you that everything is great but I am strictly pies, my favourite from here is the steak and mozzarella. I actually don’t think there is anything else that needs to be said here, it all really speaks for itself. STEAK.AND.MOZZARELLA. Oh, apart from that it is slightly on the pricey side but you cannot put a price on a STEAK AND MOZZARELLA PIE. Capitals necessary to exentuate my enthusiasm."

"Good spot for some fresh, cheap food with lots of options. My go-to is the sizzling egg noodles from Zap Lai with a fresh squeezed lemon juice or beer from the drinks bar. Easy."

"Absolutely compulsory Tamaki Makaurau food experience pit stop. 3 types of ice cold oysters as well as clams and sushimi from the freshly shucked bar. Lamb ribs and turbot sliders melt in your mouth all washed down with jugs of on tap cider. The focus is on food here people, after all Al Brown did hail from Wellington xx"
"There’s a reason this place is always jam packed. Chef Al Brown’s attention to detail and emphasis on good customer service makes Depot an all round great experience. They don’t do reservations but you can put your name on a waiting list. The staff have always been lovely and food is delicious. Highly reccomend the turbot sliders, fig toasties and sugar pie."
"The boyfriend and I come here so often that we have our Depot strategy sorted - a couple of freshly-shucked oysters each, followed by a couple of small plates (sliders usually feature), one large plate and a side of potato skins, all washed down with a carafe of their tap wine. Get in early or be prepared to wait, but know that it’s totally worth it!"

"Sal’s pizza is consistently delicious store to store, but Commerce St was the first and the best. The pizza is delicious of course, but the pepperoni wheels are what I keep coming back for. They are seriously incredible and talking about them is making me hungry. The garlic knots are also notable, and very affordable. If you somehow haven’t ever eaten at Sal’s, I recommend rectifying that asap."

"Best gelato maker in town! I had cocoa sorbet and caramel popcorn. Both divine and presented like a work of art."
"A crazy crazy place. Be prepared for an icecream with fluffy sugary bits of fluff attached and a flavour like Colin Mathura-Jeffree. The waffles are made on site, are lined with chocolate, and with a solid chocolate bottom."
