"Manukau City's public art gallery, Te Tuhi Centre for the Arts, is a huge space that includes multiple shows and a great café. It plays host to changing exhibitions, classes, school holiday programmes and more."
"It is our local Public Art Gallery. A wee gem hidden away in Pakuranga. They have amazing international and national artists showing there, right at our doorstep. It’s a wonderful place to visit. It also has easy parking and great coffee."
"Te Tuhi is a space that has hosted an amazing array of contemporary exhibitions but still manages to distance itself from the swanky art vibe which can be off putting to the wider community. Not only is their main gallery space accessible to the general public but they pride themselves in creating a space which encourages community participation and engagement. This is a community space with heart and soul, this is what a centre for the arts is all about."

"Great for a trip! The beach is very nice and the view is great - different view onto Auckland. I recommend going to the very tip of the peninsula and walking down to the rocks and enjoying the view all around - out to Waiheke, Rangitoto, and Takapuna."

"I left booking my antenatal classes until quite late, and the Parents Centre managed to slot me in on a weekend intensive course. The weekend course was run over both days, 6 hours each day, rather then other classes which can be 2 hours per week over several weeks. Given a preference, I would choose the weekend option (although this was the only choice I had given I left it so late!) The course was really informative, Plunket came in to check carseats and there were special offers available on baby products. Highly recommend."
" We used Parents Centre for our ante-natal classes when we were expecting out first child and really enjoyed the experience. It was informative, but also quite fun. There is a cost involved, unlike some other ante-natal classes. But the huge advantage is that everyone in the class was from the surrounding suburbs. So we ended up with a really great coffee group. (Whilst the free classes tend to draw in people from all over Auckland). I highly recommend it, but suggest you book as soon as you reach 12 weeks to avoid disappointment."

"Love coming to this library, as it's so spacious with a huge range of books and other resources and media to choose from. The front desk is helpful and always has plenty of staff members around to help. I love that they also have another area at the back for newspaper readers and the kids area is right at the front, so the studying folks won't be too disrupted by noise. "
" I value this library highly. Staff are happy to help. Book displays are regularly changed to tempt interest. The shelves are well stocked with an excellent variety of subjects. I have recently been researching and have been well supplied with excellent volumes off the shelf. When requesting books or DVD's service email information is kept up to date. Judging by the buzz in the air and the number of other book lovers in this library at any time of the day, I think others value this community gem as much as I do."
" The good thing about the libraries now that there's is one Council for Auckland is the flexibility to get the books that you want and pick them up from the library of you choice. Its very handy I can pic a book up from Botany and drop it back to Papakura if I wanted to. By using the Pakuranga library I avoid getting wet as they have underground parking"

"I was unsure what sized storage I needed, however I found John most helpful deciding on the perfect size, thus ensuring I didn't have to pay more than necessary. The unit was clean, dry and secure."

"We've been coming to St Heliers for years. It's a bit quieter and less commercial than Mission Bay, though still popular and busy. Great for a walk, we like to walk to the top of the hill to the lookout just past St Heliers Bay. The playground is reasonable, once again it can get crowded on a nice day. Altogether, a lovely piece of Auckland to visit on a sunny day. There are lots of seats and spots to have a picnic, with a few reasonably priced bakeries if you haven't planned for it before you arrived."

"This is an awesome organisation that rescues and rehomes abandoned cats. If you’re thinking of adding a cat to the family, or are looking for a companion for your current cat, go see Lonely Miaow to adopt an adorable de-wormed, de-flead, de-sexed, vaccinated and microchipped kitty."

"One of the biggest drags about winter and small children is the rain, which means wet playgrounds. But this winter we discovered the YMCA gym classes for pre-schoolers. It is basically like a playground indoors. The kids love it! And it is cheaper and more fun than lollipops. My son looks forward to it all week long."
"I didn't know about LARP until an acting friend of mine got me in to it, and now i am thoroughly addicted. At first i took it as an opportunity to improve on my improv skills, but then had so much freaking fun in the opening 10 minutes or so that i threw that right out the window! Definitely recommended."
