"The cuisine here is outstanding. The quality is of that of soto in ponsonby. Service is better. I will not be going anywhere else. Service is friendly and warming. The best part is the price amazing"
"On Dominion road, opposite Drum city great Japanese at cheap prices. worth booking on a Friday or Saturday as it gets busy. Really child freindly too!"

"Rarely do you bind to gems so close to each other but with sake 601 being 2 doors down from wine hot there definitely are. This intimate restraint in Morningside has a great atmosphere, great service and most of all great food. We had a sashimi platter that really stood out among the many delicious other foods. All washed down with some lovely warm sake. We then popped next door for a glass of shippers and desert! Wonderful!"
"A little treasure in Kingsland. The food is interesting and very fresh. The interior is a lovely mix of clean and warm"

"Lovely friendly staff and really yummy food. The atmosphere here is loud and busy but still had a really, really great time. Can't wait to come back! "
"My favourite Japanese restaurant. The teriyaki chicken is out of this world. Super fresh sashimi. I love the gong they bang as you enter & exit!"

"Have been meaning to come here for ages! Wish I’d done it sooner. Amazing food and the plum wine- yum!! Will be back!!"
" Everytime we have been there we have been treated so well, by the amazing manager and the lovely staff. Best sashimi I've had in a long time. We love going to Taiko for dinner."
"This place has an excellent Japanese beer selection, lots of sake and plum wines, and the decor and location is really cool, feels off the beaten track, nestled behind the tracks by the kings land train station. I was impressed with the service here, food delivered promptly and something I have noticed that NO other japanese restaurant has ever done, is our waiter came to ask us if everything was ok with our meals. For some strange reason this doesn’t usually happen. I think it’s a deal breaker. In any case, I stumbled home happy. Glad I wasn’t driving. Thanks Taiko."

"I have worked near Ramen Do for nigh on a year and have lamentably not made the most of its proximity. Until now. Rest assured, after heading here on the recommendation of a Wellington foodie (who greatly laments the lack of authentic ramen in the capital) I will be returning often. For $13 one can get a HUGE portion of authentic ramen with all the tasty bits (pork belly, mince, egg, ramen, miso) which will feed even a big eater like me twice over. Well worth a visit."
388E New North Road, Kingsland, Auckland 1021
" This place looks so unassuming from the outside, you wouldn't expect the sushi to be so fresh and delicious! But it is! Make sure you try the little barbecued salmon pieces...they are mouth wateringly good. "
Shop FC1, Westfield St Lukes, 80 St Lukes Road, St Lukes, Auckland 1346
"We love going to Kyoto as the Japanese Tempayakki taste so delicious. You can watch the chef cooking your meal right in front of you and interacting with you as well. Its amazing to see the skilled chefs tossing and turning and bringing on a huge flame onto the hot stove."
" The Japanese food offered at Kyoto is truly delicious. Hence, I enjoy and love going back. I've become a very regular customer, that the staff recognises me and offers excellent service with a smile."
5 Pah Road, Epsom, Auckland 1023
"The service is excellent, the food is exquisite and the layout of the restaurant is perfect. This place really has it all, and there isn’t a single thing to complain about :-). It has just reopened for lunch and will soon be back to business as normal with its dinner service too."
"This is definitely one of my favourite Japanese restaurants in Auckland. The food is so fresh and the presentation is beautiful! Even better, it is all prepared in front of your eyes. Love the staff, they are always happy and hilarious! Affordable set menus and its worth every cent. Be sure to go on an empty stomach, you will leave Bowz well-fed and with a big smile as the staff waves you goodbye. 2 big thumbs up!"

"Yuzu on Symonds St is my new favourite spot for Japanese. Awesome food and lovely service, definitely recommended for fresh healthy food, you can even request brown rice. I love getting a table out the back and watching the sun go down over Auckland, perfect!"
"I’ve been coming to this Japanese restaurant for a couple years now and it’s as good as any other japanese restaurant in Auckland. Great sushimi and amazing service!"

"When I worked at the Lido Cinema I LOVED heading to Oki Doki (not just because of the hilarious name). The friendly staff made the BEST teriaki chicken and avocado sushi and always gave us cinema girls a free miso to go with it. Thanks Oki Doki from an old cinema broad."

" Tried Kuni's (one of the original owners of Taiko, Kingsland) new restaurant last night (admittedly not that new, but is the first time I have made it there). And it was exceptional, from the Raw Tuna & Avocado special, to the Sashimi to the black sesame pana cotta with sugar cane syrup and green tea icecream. A must for people who love quality Japanese Cuisine in a casual dining environment."
