183 Symonds Street, Newton, Auckland
"Bian sushi on Symonds St is a regular lunch stop for me being just around the corner from my shop Gorgeous Creatures. It is truly the freshest and tastiest sushi I have ever had (and has totally ruined me because now I won't eat sushi anywhere else). The fillings are very generous and the one with the little salmon eggs on top is one of my favourites followed closely by the spicy chicken with coriander. And that onion sauce they have by the counter is a must try - great on tuna."
116 Quay Street, Auckland Central, Auckland 1010
"The large shared plates at Ebisu are top notch. High quality materials and loving preparation makes for a delcious and healthy feed for a group."
315 B Queen Street, Auckland Central, Auckland
"How can you resist? Delicious good that is always light but worth the taste and flavours. Quaint little place which makes you feel like your living in Japan."

"Nishiki Japanese Restaurant at the bottom of Wellington Street, Freemans Ba, serves the most sumptuous feasts of gorgeous Japanese food and it's always packed full of other diners because they know how GREAT this place is. It's not even expensive, very reasonably priced and super fast service."
104D Customs Street West, Auckland Central, Auckland 1010
"I love the theatre of Industry Zen in the evening when the Taiko drums come out and everyone stops eating to enjoy the show. And the fact that this homage to Japanese cuisine never, ever puts a foot wrong when it comes to quality and freshness keeps me coming back to this cosy establishment in the Viaduct Basin. Sashimi is one of my top three favourite foods and they do a great lunch boat for just $18."

"Ah, the tried and true. Can’t say I have met a person that doesn’t like Renkon and the Parnell store is the perfect one to meet up with those friends who work around the city and don’t have all that long for a lunch break because it is cheap, delicious, quick, filling AND healthy. I am a huge fan of Japanese food so to find somewhere that fits all of the above categories was great, let alone trying to find any food place like that in general in Auckland. My heart lies with the karaage chicken. It is fried chicken with rice and veges and it tastes like upper class KFC, and I like to pretend I am fancy. I don’t think you could go wrong with this place, I will fight you if you think otherwise."
"I celebrate my birthday with a large group of friends and family at Renkon Parnell late last year. With both myself and most of my friends being uni students, I wanted to go somewhere that had good food, and that was affordable for us all, and that was exactly what Renkon offers. What we did was each buy a starter, which we shared around the table, our own mains, and Renkon allowed me to provide a cake to have for dessert for no extra charge. They kept it safe in the kitchen while we were enjoying our delicious dinner, and they brought it out afterwards with candles lit, a knife so I could cut it, and plates and spoons so we could eat it. They were very accommodating, and everyone had a delicious meal. I was so please I chose to celebrate my birthday at Renkon, and have been back a number of times since. If there is one thing I can say to sum up my review - I give them 5 stars ;) *****"
Shop 8-583 Dominion Road, Mount Eden, Auckland 1041
"The cuisine here is outstanding. The quality is of that of soto in ponsonby. Service is better. I will not be going anywhere else. Service is friendly and warming. The best part is the price amazing"
"This has to be our favourite Japanese restaurant! We've been coming here for at least 10 years, and it has always been great food at great prices and very friendly staff. We have also found it to be child-friendly too - both with some toys to play with during the wait, then delicious & healthy Japanese food aimed at kids humour (smiley faces in soy sauce)."

"Every time i come here i get the same amazing atmosphere, bubbly staff and great food! The staff took great care of our table, as it was my dads birthday we brought a cake along, they took it away to put it in the fridge (it was a cheesecake) and after we had our lovely! flavorsome! beautifully plated dishes it was time for cake! 3-4 staff dressed up in cute costumes and brought the cake lite up and sung my dad happy birthday !! Thank you to all the staff involved in making our night memorable ! and giving my dad a great birthday :) :) the whole experience is incredible you have to come here to experience it as well! Best Japanese restaurant in Auckland now my regular :) 10/10"
"How can you not love the noisy and fun atmosphere of SakeBar Nippon. Great food and friendly service. The sounds of the beating drums always amused our daughter, who loves the sushi. #feelgood"

"Take a walk down Queen Street and step down the stairs to this delightful restaurant. You will immediately feel secluded from the rest of the World. The food is fantastic - we chose a selection of small plate items which were delicious; from the scallops to pork belly, stuffed mushrooms, tiger prawns and tofu salad - there’s something for everyone!"
"I like to come here when in Auckland for business, as its got a cosy atmosphere, especially in the cave. The staff are always friendly, and the beer is good (Gisborne Gold by the bottle!) fried octopus balls are a favourite."

"Rarely do you bind to gems so close to each other but with sake 601 being 2 doors down from wine hot there definitely are. This intimate restraint in Morningside has a great atmosphere, great service and most of all great food. We had a sashimi platter that really stood out among the many delicious other foods. All washed down with some lovely warm sake. We then popped next door for a glass of shippers and desert! Wonderful!"
"This is a little gem ! The food is beautifully presented in a quaint japanese meets hawaiin setting. The service is expectional. I highly recommend this place for a date or catch up with a couple of friends. The bathrooms are worth checking out as well :) I just feel @ home here !"

"The popular Everybody’s in the Imperial Lane has had a bit of a makeover last Winter, turning officially Japanese under new moniker Everybody’s Izakaya. It is now serving up deliciously inspired food courtesy of head chef Nick Honeyman, and the menu will have you salivating from first read. The service is informal enough to relax you but just attentive enough to impress, and if you are on a first date the incredible cocktail list will most definitely help break the ice. The Autumn Elixir and Tokyo Serenity are two of my faves, or there is a huge sake list that includes a delicious sparkling option. Make sure to book if you want an upstairs booth."
"Went on Friday night for a 4 course chef's tasting menu. Was amazing, as we didn't know what we were going to have and I wouldn't have ordered any of the things I ate if I'd had the choice off a menu, but every course was delicious. #foodfave :)"
"This is just next to The Roxy, it is a new establishment as well. By day this is an eatery with, by the way, the best Japanese in town. There is a vast indoor/outdoor area which in all covers quite a big expanse of space. It seems like these amazing places just popped up overnight and became wildly popular with everyone in town. By night, this place turns into a trendy place to have a dance and get a vino or 6. Great place to come for some after work drinks, especially if you are on the hunt for a rich boyfriend as this place to suited up to the nines. Handy tip for all the gold diggers out there."
258 Karangahape Road, Auckland Central, Auckland
"A couple of friends and I accidentally went to this place looking for another restaurant. We were highly impressed by the presentation and quality of the sushi for the low price. Lucky mistake! "
"The food is delicious and reasonably priced and the service is wonderful. By far my favourite sushi place in Auckland - so much so that I still go there even after moving to the other side of town!"
"Proactive service, they will ask if you want them to make you anything missing from sushi display. They have a small Vietnamese menu if you feel like a change. The sushi is fresh and interesting and caters for the economical to the aficionados. Eat in or takeaway. It's a treat to have a local eatery that's customer service forward and encourages great repeat custom and enjoyment of the experience. Might have to have a b'day function there if they cater for that. hehe"
