"The big breakfast option here has real bake beans - not that gourmet stuff… Perhaps best to wear loose fitting clothes if your venturing here haha"

"With a name like "The Fridge Cafe" I just had to check this place out! It's choice as mate :D Pie changes you. :D"
"I have only ever eaten pies from this place. The best. Everyone who has been here will tell you that everything is great but I am strictly pies, my favourite from here is the steak and mozzarella. I actually don’t think there is anything else that needs to be said here, it all really speaks for itself. STEAK.AND.MOZZARELLA. Oh, apart from that it is slightly on the pricey side but you cannot put a price on a STEAK AND MOZZARELLA PIE. Capitals necessary to exentuate my enthusiasm."

"This place is great if you want somewhere casual to go for an affordable beer and a burger. They do really good chips with aioli which I like to pair with a Mac’s cider! Big outdoor space to sit in or if it’s cold out, the inside is always toasty warm! Big food for a big appetitie at this one!"
"If you’re looking for a spot to enjoy a few lazy beers in Kingsland, I would recommend Neighbourhood Brewbar. There is a large courtyard in the front and the back windows let in a generous smattering of sunlight. The music is laidback, the beer cold and the fit out spacious. Great White is my choice of what they have on tap, but I guess that all comes down to personal preference."

"Everyone raves about Canton Cafe, and fair enough! The food is incredible and it’s BYO. The menu is large (try the lemon chicken, but you really can’t go wrong) and looks expensive, but the plates are huge and you really only need one per two people… that and the lazy susans on the table make this a great place for a big group. The staff were very accommodating about my food allergy, and we were served very quickly after ordering. Canton Cafe definitely lives up to the hype."
"After only hearing good things about this place I decided to head along and was not disappointed. This is another place where it is better to go in a big group so you can try everything. The portions are enormous! Make sure to book a table in advance, and even bring a bottle of wine for BYO!"

"Amazing selection of cakes and slices and great coffee - the original go to dessert spot in Auckland! Open late too. Lemon Meringue pie is off the charts!"
"Me and a group of friends try to come here once a month! They have a great selection of deserts to chose from which are generally $12.90. My personal favorite is the Creme Brulee with the berry compote. Be aware that even if you go late at night expect it to be very busy and note that it’s like that for a reason! There are tables situated inside and outside and lots of side road parking which is convenient as it is placed on the corner."

"I went to see the Hunt (a Danish film about a man who is wrongfully accused of being a pedophile) in the weekend at the Capitol cinema on Dominion Road. The cinema is beautiful but the movie was dark and haunting. The movie left me feeling a little icky so I headed along to the Event Cinemas in St Lukes for a slightly lighter experience. This time we opted for Baz Luhrmann's 'The Great Gatsby' which was a style over substance, fun adaptation of the book. The cinema was hooching due to it being deal night ($11 for a ticket, $15 if it's in 3D) and the smell of buttery popcorn was in the air. The staff were all professional and the seats, which i guess are a big part of the movie, comfy. If you're not looking for a gourmet, art house experience and are happy to enjoy a big Hollywood blockbuster and slurp on a frozen Coke this is the place for you."
"Nothing beats a good old horror film on the big screen, in a big dark room with your friend sitting next to you screaming at every little sudden movement. When you are looking for a bit of an addrenline rush and you think you can handle of few nights of scary dreams, I’d grab a group of friends and head to the cinemas. Oooooh and on the way home a drive around some abandoned houses is always good."

"Simon and Nick have just finished doing a renovation to my 1910's bungalow, removing a wall and chimney to create a large open living space. They were brilliant at communicating throughout the process, and made the whole experience wierdly quite enjoyable :) Their advice and worksmanship was top notch, and as a result i'm totally stoked with the outcome. (And that's coming from a bit of a perfectionist) They were also able to suggest great subbies for the other bits (electrical, plastering, floors etc), who were all equally well priced, top notch and trustworthy, which made the whole process so much easier. If you're after great quality, well priced builders who you can trust, you can't go past Simon and Nick! Thanks boys! I'll call you for the ensuite ;)"
" Simon & Nick have just completed our house extension. A 50m extension with a lot of internal changes to the existing house. They were fantastic to work with with a great work ethic and craftsmanship. Work was completed on time and within the price range they indicated. If you are looking for a reliable local builder these are your guys. They also have a great sub trade team who were all equally as reliable as Simon & Nick. Would not hesitate to use these guys again for future building projects. cheers guys"
" I would just like to say a very big thank you to Simon and Nick from Eden builders. They have done an incredible job with our new deck and have gone the extra mile on every detail. The end result has far surpassed our expectations and during the journey, they have always been on standby to answer my multitude of questions. It's great to see kiwi guys doing what they love in an ever-changing market. Intend to recommend to everyone I know and didn't want the wider community to miss out on working with such awesome guys. Thanks again guys. Cant wait till summer till enjoy our new deck."

"Went to Squid Row at the last minute to watch the All Blacks vs France accompanied by wicked service first of and followed up by even better food and beverages."
"Squid Row is quite a hip and happening little place on Symonds Street with great drinks as well as seafood. I love going here in the winter because they’ve always got the heaters cranked! They have a great range of seafood on the menu, like rock oysters and smoked fish pie."

"Really great place to come and watch a game of Cricket or Rugby. The staff are really helpful with helping you find your seat and there are heaps of places to get snacks. Has a really great vibe about it. "
