" We love Lone Star and Manukau is one of our favourite places to go, the portions are really good, delicious food and the atmosphere is great...we've had birthday dinners, a graduation celebration, christmas functions and just plain ol catch up with friends at Lone Star... Although pricey it's definitely well worth it and we look on the "Grab a Deal" lone star deals when we know we will be heading to lone star...you can catch some great deals, if you are quick!"

"Once again found we ourselves in Manukau needing lunch and craving a curry when we saw the well sign posted Sangreet on Great South Road. Good parking in the little business area and we were on our way to one of the best curries we've had ( little did we know it then). The place is quite big and has a fabulously exotic feel with three neat huge brass elephants near the bar, deep red walls adorned with exotic Indian art, huge vases by the doors, leather couches for a pre-dinner drink and table cloth's of faux leopard skin which are really cool and add a really ethnic feel to the place. Love the decor!! We ordered a popadoms & sauces and a special chicken to start. They bought out the popadoms first which was nice so we could share them first. Then the chicken like a 2nd entree. Both were really good. We had a glass of the house red wine which was amazingly only $4.90 but not marvellous. It was the only option on the menu other than bottles or BYO. I suggest BYO if you go. Then (yes I know we are creatures of habit) we had a butter chicken & a lamb sagawalla. Beautifully tender meats melted in your mouth. The butter chicken was great but the sagawalla fantastic.. yep an omg thats good!! We got garlic nanns which were amazingly good and rice. The service was excellent. Exactly how it should be. We finished off with the mango kulfi to share ( an ice cream like dessert) which was very very good also. This place is well worth the drive to Manukau and now in equal 1st position on my list of fav Indian restaurants in Auckland!!! "

" So came to this place for Mothers day lunch, why? why not just passing and in need of a hearty meal and previously we had got one. Everyone else in the area however had decided to treat mum to a lunch here it seemed. It was busy.. really busy as in every seat in the house including the outside deck and at some point a queue of people waiting for tables. For some weird reason we seemed to skip that and got a seat immediately. I think because we were 3 and everyone else brought more people and so we got a small table. Once seated the menus are pretty standard steakhouse stuff - for lunch everything seems to be $16 mains wise so that keeps it simple. We ordered some bread which came quickly and was tasty and massive like 3 loaves which was way to much. We also ordered a couple of mains and some drinks, I was actually pretty impressed that despite being packed they ran a very efficient ship and we were well served and the food came out the same amount of time you would imagine. I guess this falls into the do something simple, do it well. The meals were simple, but hearty, a slab of meat, some veges or some salad or chips in relatively large supply. No need to really go on about the food, it was not Merediths, but it was also $16 for a large plate full. We didnt even contemplate dessert as we were stuffed and also there was such a line forming felt a little guilty for holding up a table. So all an all a quick tasty, filling meal for pretty cheap price - you dont pack a place like that because you dont know what your doing and judging by some stuff on the walls its been there for like 20 years which leads to the conclusion they must be doing it right and I agree."
" Huge choice, huge meals and pretty good service. Nice outdoor area on a sunny day and good vibe inside. Almost feels like you're in America. Food looked good and was pretty good. Not cheap but you certainly wouldn't leave hungry. Some things a bit mediocre like the baked potatoes were not brown & crunchy skins.. more soggy and soft but you got 2 huge ones and a large dish of butter and sour cream. The salad was bland.. not sure if the 3 bottles they brought out earlier then took away were meant to be dressings for this or not. Small things can take a good meal and make it average sadly. Would go back if starving and wanted a big meal in a hurry. Certainly was a huge range to choose from."

"Soha is a little bit like being at a mall food court. There's Indian, Thai, kebabs and Chinese. The menu is huge, so be prepared for some decision-making. There were plenty of vege options, which was great, especially all the tofu ones. Next time I'd probably get a selection to take away rather than dining in as the atmosphere isn't what you'd be going for."
" Well, what an experience this was! Went with a friend on Sunday night, and might not have even gone in if we had judged by the fluorescent lighting inside. Luckily we gave it a go as the food was super. As entrees we shared money bags and the satay chicken, both of which, while not at all healthy, were totally yum and generously portioned. We were pleasantly surprised, which made for an excellent start to our meal. Our mains came out before we had finished the entrees so we had to shuffle our entree plates to fit the mains – certainly not a leisurely dining experience! I went for the Pepper Perfect (Stir fried vegetables with chef's special black pepper sauce and beef, prawns, scallops or crispy duck), which, as they were out of duck, I was offered beef and chicken. I don't think chicken and beef ever should go together, so in hindsight I wonder why I agreed?! Anyway, when it arrived it looked delicious – lots of lovely colourful and nicely cooked vegetables and a generous ratio of meat (which was unfortunately a little dry). My friend got the Crispy Cream (Stir fried crispy chicken with panang curry paste, coconut cream, crunchy peanuts & fresh vegetables), which was not really what we expected even having enquired about it, but again it was very yum. Lots of vegetables, the chicken was indeed crispy and the satay sauce was just as tasty as in the entree. We both left quite a portion on our plates, but it was tasty enough that we might try out the Newmarket branch which is closer to home."
