This is a great place to spend some time with friends or as a family. You can learn to kayak and head off down the Wairoa River or stay near the park base to play on the ‘The Blob’, paddle boards or kayak slide (yes it’s a waterslide for kayaks). If you’re into something a little more subdued these guys also run a fantastic glow worm evening kayak on nearby Lake McLaren.
Heading into summer this is a great place for families to spend a day together. The park offers kayaking, water bikes and paddle-boards for hire and the stunning rural location provides a relaxed setting for a picnic or evening barbeque. There's also a beach volleyball court and hot pool with water slide on site.

Waimarino is great, there is just so, so much to do here. Maybe you’ve taken the kids here before but didn’t know that they also offer a school holiday programme (you can leave the kids and get on with your life!). Waimarino’s programme includes activities such as the adventure maze, animal petting, laser tag, wall climbing, sports, movies, hot pools and a disco/party to wrap up the two weeks. They also offer a bus service from the city to the park.
