As the 0's on my student loan increased, the weather dropped below 0 and instant noodles became a staple food (mee goreng is one of the main food groups right?) I came to Velvet Burger George street for a rare night of culinary indulgence. My go to was the gone burger which included a chicken patty, a beef patty, bacon and all sorts of other goodies. The deliciousness and nutrition in this thing sustained me for days at a time. If you're after a tasty, real burger with all the good stuff in it you'd be thick to go past Velvet Burger!

      I love Velvet Burger in Auckland so when I was in Dunedin recently I had to go to its home and try my favourite burger on their menu, aptly titled Homegrown. Just as good as its younger counterpart in Auckland's North Island, the lamb creation featured the same delectable beetroot and horopito chutney that I love so much. Is it wrong that I already want to travel down to Dunedin again just to eat another one?
