I really like the venue. I love the blend of a mini library and cafe in a wonderfully restored building with such kid-friendly facilities. I love the fact that they promote eco-sustainability and really seem to live it rather than use the label for appearances. The food is not to my taste, however. The staff are friendly and like I said, I like the venue.

Went to this little gem with my wife (my wife has been there twice before with friends) for a Sunday brunch. This review is based on this visit but will also contain some of her previous experiences.   Service - Great friendly service. Lots of smiles and eager to help staff. Very polite as well. However, they do seem quite eager to take away our dishes/cups and unfortunately, even when there is food left on my wife's plate, which she finished not long after. That was the only bleep to an otherwise good service.   Food - The eggs benedict (salmon) I ordered was nice and salmon was fresh. Eggs were cooked perfectly and bread was nicely toasted. However, my wife's greek salad was a bit on the dry side - A bit more olive oil would have been nice. Also, one of the pieces of red onion had the end there (the one that you normally remove when you chop the onion). My wife mentioned that the food was a on the dry side the both times that she came before this (not sure why this happens?)   Drinks - The mochachino I ordered tasted okay. The coffee part was nicely brewed but there wasn't enough chocolate taste to really call it a mochachino. However, my wife says the coffee was great previously.   Value - Standard price and acceptable.   Atmosphere - Amazing atmosphere and decor. The whole feel of the books and the building is quite good. Definitely worth coming just for this too :D   Overall - A nice little brunch and experience for me and my wife. Just little details that were a bit off. Would return for sure.

We used this as the start point for a walk thru Ambury Park. Great coffee and sweet treats kept us fuelled for a long hot walk. Lots of gluten free and dairy free options too!

This is a fantastic cafe with such atmosphere it was amazing!

My husband and I decided to go for brunch here this morning. The location is good - right in Onehunga, but just off the main street. We found a little table outside in the sun. It took about 15 - 20 minutes before anybody came to take our order, which was definately too long, but the waiter was friendly. We both ordered the big breakfast, but switched out the meat for more of the vege options, so it was vegetarian, and added hollandaise. They were happy to make the swap, and when the food came out there were more mushrooms than I knew what to do with. Their house made hollandaise was really nice - very citrusy. The breakfast was huge - I definately couldn't finish it all, and it was all really nice, although the mushrooms were a little bland. They were $22.50 each, which is definately on the very high side, luckily we had an entertainment book voucher which gave us one of the meals free - I don't think I would pay the full price for it to be honest. I do like that they use all free range and organic ingredients where ever possible, which does justify a slightly higher price tag. The building itself is really nice - with a couple of different rooms to choose from, plus tables outside.

Good location, great for families with kids - they have an indoor and outdoor play area.  Menu was limiting - would've been nice to order something fruity other than a small fruit cup in a plastic takeaway container.  Had to go somewhere else to get our dessert which was a shame.  Need more selection on your menu please

Came here today after hearing great things.  Unfortunately had already had lunch.  But a friendly staff member informed us the kitchen was still open (it was 2:30).  Didn't have a look around,  but enjoyed our respective drinks outside in the sun - lovely out the front, especially if you are into people watching!  My Earl Grey was served as leaves in a strainer and in a cup, rather than a teapot.  Will definitely be back to sample the menu!

Been there many times over the years. Love it when we take the kids there because its one of the only places that we can relax having the kids at the other end of the room. I sometimes go to the other kid-free area to get work done in the weekends as well, and have a great coffee while I'm doing it. Definitely the best Onehunga has to offer.

This used to be my favourite spot for lunch near work, especially when a mate worked there. Is not as awesome as it used to be though.

cheap cakes! great food so busy good on you guys!
