There’s concern about a foot infection rower Martin Berka has developed while taking part in the Team Gallagher row across the Tasman.
The four members of Team Gallagher are 23 days into their row from Sydney to Auckland and are at least half way there.
The team reported at the weekend that Martin has a foot infection so can't row and in the latest update, they say Martin’s foot is still of some concern.
“The infection is not settling down which is frustrating.”
The crew is sending a photo of the infected foot to authorities in Auckland for some analysis.
In other problems in the last two days, weather conditions have meant the team has been unable to row and so their sea anchor has been deployed.
