Team Gallagher has made some great progress over the last two days but it looks like they will be back to the cabins as bad weather heads their way yet again.
Reported Nigel Cherrie last night: “We have had a tough afternoon at the oars. Had to stop rowing for an hour to sort some contamination problems, a flooded hatch, and the watermaker losing pressure. Have all those sorted now and have gotten back underway to get east to the next waypoint.
The forecast is for a strong southwest breeze, but right now there is wind and large waves from the north which are crashing into the side of boat and making it very challenging to row. All worth it though as we are averaging at around four knots.”
Nigel wrote again this morning: “Heinous night under sea anchor. There is a big front with plenty of wind and some pretty large swell coming through. The next few days are looking very average too. Cabin fever...”
