Fifty days after Team Gallagher left Sydney and they are now within reach of their goal: Auckland.

This just in from Rob Hamill, Team Gallagher's Director, who has returned after taking a boat out to say hello to the guys as they begin the final leg down to Auckland on their epic trans-Tasman row.

"The guys are all good. It's beautiful weather and TV3 got fantastic shots for tonight's news at 6pm. They will need to resupply before getting to Auckland and will probably make land somewhere in the next 48-72hours to stock up on food.

"Nigel's back is still causing some irritation, but it's not going to stop him rowing to Auckland!"

Rob also promises some images this afternoon and the team will be within cell coverage too which means contact with the outside world will be easier. Stay tuned!
