The crew aboard Team Gallagher are chuffed to be rowing again but the challenges before them are considerable.  They have yet to round Cape Reinga, a dangerous stretch of water at the best to times, and then it’s homeward bound.  A decision on how best to approach this will be made once they crew are closer to New Zealand and is dependant on what the weather is doing at that time.

Here’s a couple of great messages, the first from Colin ‘Mr Tasman’ Quincey:

Hi guys! Congratulations on your patience and the re-start. I think you broke my record for days spent sitting in a rowing boat on the Tasman going nowhere! **** happens and nowhere more regularly than on the Tasman! You may not realise it but YOU'VE PASSED THE HARDEST TEST OF THE TRIP - just waiting, impotent, frustrated -  that's a huge thing to achieve. BLOODY WELL DONE - NOW JUST FINISH THE JOB AND COME ON HOME. That yellow worm is streaking eastward on my computer so go as hard as you can for the next few days and you'll smell the Pacific. Look forward to welcoming you at the Viaduct. Cheers CQ.

And from Shaun ‘Mr Tasman Jnr’ Quincey:

I remember Day 36 on my trip when i had taken a flip upside down and had completely given up on rowing the Tasman i was right in the middle of the ditch and couldn't think of anything worse than rowing any more, I cried for a few hours at the thought of continuing. When I received a text message telling me that I was the luckiest barstard in the world and that the Tasman had nothing over me anymore having survived the roll. I guess that I realized that I was incredibly grateful and lucky to be rowing the Tasman and that I would never give up no matter what was thrown at me.

The decision to continue in what may seem absolute adversity is a decision you will not regret and I have no doubt will define your expedition, a devastatingly hard decision to make but worth it 10000 times over when you look back at this very small moment in time. You are the first in the world to attempt this, firsts are never easy as they come with a large reward.  Persevere Persevere Persevere Persevere by finishing this you will light a spark for thousands of people.

I have 100% faith in your ability to complete the row !!!! enjoy it you will be back behind a computer in no time wishing you were on an adventure!

Be strong
